Apollo tyres have launched three new series of tyres in their India lineup - the Apterra HT2 for SUVs and the actiZip F2 & the actiZip R3 tubeless tyres for motorcycles. These tyres have been jointly developed by the company’s Global R&D Centres in Chennai and Enschede. Apollo’s tyre range are now available for about 90 per cent of the two-wheeler market and most SUVs.
The Apterra HT2 SUV tyres are available in six sizes ad T, H and V speed index. These tyres claim to provide a long life, low tyre noise and a comfortable ride owing to the contour of the tyre. The tyres also get stiffer ribs and wider circumferential grooves which help in the braking performance on both dry and wet surfaces. The Apollo Apterra HT2 tyres are available for SUVs like the Mahindra Bolero, TUV 300, Scorpio, Tata Safari, Hexa, Mitsubishi Pajero Sports, Toyota Prado, Fortuner, Hyundai Santa Fe and the Volvo XC60.
The Apollo actiZip F2 tubeless tyres are for the front wheels and are available in two new sizes, while the Apollo actiZip R3 range of tubeless tyres are for rear fitment and will be available in three sizes. The directional pattern on the actiZip F2 and R3 tyres claim to give it good dry and wet braking capability and high levels of cornering stability. Made from a polymers-based high mileage tread compound, both these tyres have been designed with focus on grip, safety and comfort.
