The 2020 Honda City has been spotted emission testing ahead of its March 16 debut. The fifth iteration of Honda’s bread and butter model was globally unveiled in November 2019 and will be launched in India soon. It will feature a new exterior design, revamped interior and a cleaner set of engines.
Honda will most probably offer the 2020 City with two BS6-compliant engines: a 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel. The 119PS 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine is already BS6-compliant and will be present in the next-generation model. Honda could slap on a mild hybrid system to this motor. The diesel option, on the other hand, would most probably be the existing 100PS 1.5-litre i-DTEC motor albeit with BS6 upgrades. It could be offered with a CVT just like the Amaze.
The 2020 Honda City features an evolutionary exterior design that looks familiar. The front end comes with a chrome grille merging on to the sleek LED headlamps. Also new are the bumpers which come with LED fog lamps. In profile, highlights include a sharp profile which runs through the side and dual-tone alloy wheels. Moving on to the back, the 2020 City comes with sleek LED tail lamps.

The 2020 Honda City is also expected to come with equipment like a touchscreen infotainment system, connected car technology, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, climate control, a sunroof, LED headlamps and keyless entry with push button start. Expected safety features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and a rear view camera.
The 2020 Honda City is expected to be priced above the current model which starts from Rs 9.91 lakh (ex-showroom). It will lock horns with the Toyota Yaris, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and the upcoming Skoda Rapid, Volkswagen Vento BS6.
