The 2017 Skoda Octavia facelift will be launching in India on July 13. If you like the current model of the Skoda Octavia, you might have reservations about the way the 2017 facelift looks. But, we have driven the car and can tell you that there are a lot of goodies behind that face that make it an even better package. Skoda dealerships across India are already accepting bookings for the same for a minimum token amount of Rs 51,000. Check out our first drive review to know all about the Octavia facelift.
In terms of changes, the new Octavia gets a pair of split LED headlamps with underlining DRLs, a new front grille, redesigned bumpers, fog lamps and taillamp pattern. The 16-inch alloy wheels are also new but retain the same size. There are some changes inside the cabin as well. In the middle of the dashboard sits a larger 8-inch infotainment system. It uses capacitive touch (similar to smartphones) and feels more premium than before. Also, the car gets adaptive lighting and a new steering wheel. The interiors are dressed in beige and offer an airy feel, which is accentuated by the panoramic sunroof.
Mechanically, the car continues with the same engine options as before. You can choose from a 1.8-litre TSI petrol engine coupled to the 7-Speed DSG transmission, 1.4-litre TSI petrol coupled to a 6-speed manual and a 2.0-litre diesel engine coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Prices of the Octavia are expected to remain close to the current model as the hike is expected to be absorbed by the impact of GST.
