Both the bikes get new colour schemes along with new added features

2017 Kawasaki Versys 1000

Kawasaki has introduced the 2017 range of its Versys models by adding a few new features to it. Now, both the adventure-touring motorcycles - Versys 1000 and Versys 650 - get new colour schemes, an updated instrument console with gear position indicator and are now mounted with newly designed windshield knobs which are easily adjustable. Not only that, the Japenese bikemaker has also added a GPS mount on the Versys series.

Mechanically, the bike is powered by a 649cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine which is capable of producing 69 PS of power and 64Nm of peak torque. Colour schemes available with the 2017 Versys 650 are metallic flat raw titanium and metallic flat spark black/metallic carbon grey along with a special edition candy lime green/metallic spark black.

The Versys 650 is generously equipped with features such as -

- Adjustable suspension setup with inverted front forks and offset rear mono shock.

- Dual front disc brakes and a single rear disc brake.

- Large 21-litre fuel tank.

- Panniers and top box mounts.

- ABS.

Apart from these features, the bike also has a long list of optional accessories to choose from.

The 2017 Versys 1000

The 2017 Versys 1000 is powered by the 1,043cc, inline-four motor which pumps out 120PS of power and 102Nm of torque. Colour options available with this beast are candy burnt orange/flat ebony, candy lime green/metallic carbon grey and metallic flat spark black.

The Versys 1000 is equipped with features such as -

- Fully adjustable suspension set-up

- High-performance braking system with ABS.  

- Assist and slipper clutch 

- A 3-mode KTRC (Kawasaki Traction Control) with power modes which provide a total of eight combinations.

The Versys 1000 and 650 are currently available in the India market and carry a price tag of Rs 12.85 lakh and Rs 6.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. The 2017 models of the adventure-tourers are expected to arrive at the Indian shores by next year.
