2017 Bajaj Pulsar Range To Get Significant Changes

Bajaj Auto has been there in the automobile industry in one form or the other since 1951. Over the last decade and a half, the company has gained a reputation for producing affordable performance-oriented motorcycles. Now, the domestic automaker is planning to make significant changes to its entire 2017 Pulsar range, the very sub-brand that catapulted the firm to heights of success in the two-wheeler industry, mostly in a bid to keep up with the stringent BS-4 norms.

Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto, said that the company has “four very significant launches in October and November” this year. He also added: "I am very pleased to say that we are going to launch between now and December, the 2017 range of the Pulsar, so significant change there in both their appearance and performance." 

Details still remain scarce on these significant changes, but it is confirmed that the 2017 Bajaj Pulsar range will not only be a sticker job along with the addition of new colour tones and body graphics. Instead, the engines will also be getting some comprehensive updates for better performance.

The most likely update on the powertrain front should be the upgrade from the present compliance of BS-3 emission norms to BS-4. The Pulsar range i.e. Bajaj Pulsar 135LS, 150, 180, 220, RS200, 200NS and the Pulsar AS, all are powered by the tried and tested single-cylinder DTS-i engine, which when upgraded to BS-4 could deliver better fuel efficiency and improved power/torque figures.

On the other hand, Bajaj will introduce ABS on these upcoming Pulsar models, since the Indian government has made these safety features mandatory on all motorcycles displacing 125cc and above.
