Triumph launched the new Street Scrambler at the 2016 EICMA motorcycle show in Italy. As the name suggests, the motorcycle is based on the Street Twin platform. The new Street Scrambler is the fifth model in the Street Twin family after the T100 Bonneville, T100 Black, Street Cup café racer and the standard motorcycle. Although it might be based on the Street Twin, the new Triumph motorcycle gets custom-made parts to do justice to its genre.
The new Triumph Street Scrambler gets a longer rear shocks for you to have fun off the tarmac, wider set of handlebars, bash plate, 19-inch dia front wheel, 17-inch spoke wheel at the rear and Metzeler Tourance dual-purpose tyres. While it might look retro from the outside, underneath the beautiful skin lies modern goodies like switchable ABS and traction control. The design highlight of the new Street Scrambler stainless steel exhaust that just screams COOL!
Powering the motorcycle is the same water-cooled, 900cc parallel-twin motor as seen on the standard bike. The mill churns out 55PS and does justice to the “high torque” moniker by developing 80Nm of peak torque. There’s also torque assist clutch so that the rider doesn’t have to put too much effort and the motorcycle also gets USB charging point as a standard fitment. Given the fact that the Triumph T100 Bonneville was launched in India within a short span of its international debut, we expect Triumph to get the Street Scrambler in the Indian market by early-2017.
