With the power delivery from the engine now being transmitted to the front wheels, and with the raised height, BMW has accomplished to make the interiors of the new X1 much more spacious and comfortable. The dashboard and the door inner sections receive a steel-finish panelling giving the X1 a justified premium appeal.
Fire power for the new X1 is provided by the latest generation 2.0-litre 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine which now produces 192PS of power coupled to an 8-speed Steptronic gearbox providing improved gear shifts and improved fuel economy. As per claims by the manufacturer, the new X1 mill is 17 per cent more efficient compared to its previous generation engine.
The new BMW X1 will go up against the likes of the Audi Q3, Mercedes-Benz GLA in the luxury compact SUV segment.
