2016 Auto Expo: Jaguar XE launch, F-Pace unveil in India

Jaguar will launch the new XE sedan in India at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo in Delhi. The Tata Motors owned British automaker will also unveil the new F-Pace luxury SUV in India for the first time.

Jaguar has announced its plans for the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. The new Jaguar XE luxury sedan and the Jaguar F-Pace SUV will be the centre of attraction at the Jaguar stall and will be accompanied by the likes of the Jaguar XF facelift and also the Jaguar XJ luxury limousine. The new Jaguar XE will go up against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the Audi A4 and the BMW 3 Series in India. The new Jaguar XE will get both petrol and diesel engines.

In terms of engines, the diesel will be a 2.0-litre unit which will come in two states of tune. The base version will put out 163PS of peak power and 380Nm of peak torque while the top of the line diesel version will make 180PS of peak power and 430Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the petrol engine, also a 2.0-litre engine will also get two states of tune. The entry level car will make 200PS of peak power with 280Nm of torque while the more powerful variant will make 240PS of peak power and 340Nm of peak torque. The Jaguar XE will also get a S variant which gets a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 engine that will make 345PS of peak power and 450Nm of peak torque which will propel the car from 0-100kmph in under 5-seconds and on the way to a limited top speed of 250kmph.

Jaguar F Pace

The F-Pace on the other hand is Jaguar’s first ever SUV and could work well in a SUV-crazed country like India. Powering the F-Pace will be the same engines that will power the XE. The diesel will be a 2.0-litre unit that will make 180PS of peak power. The petrol on the other hand will be two engines, a 2.0-litre with 240PS and a 3.0-litre motor with 340PS and 380PS of peak outputs. The F-Pace will get both a rear wheel drive and an all-wheel-drive variant.

As we mentioned earlier, the Jaguar stall will also have the facelifted XF on display along with the Jaguar XJ luxury limousine. Jaguar will also showcase its popular F-Type sports car in both coupe and convertible variants along with the possibility of showcasing the updated F-Type with all-wheel-drive.
