The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer unveiled new models of the Versys at the INTERMOT 2014 motorcycle show in Cologne, Germany

2015 Kawasaki Versys 65

The Versys 650 gets some cosmetic upgrades, including horizontal dual headlights, new instrument cluster, larger fuel tank and redesigned bodywork including a larger fairing and chin spoiler below the twin headlights to reduce air resistance.

The footpegs have been repositioned as well, mounted 15mm lower and 20mm forward from their previous position for a more relaxed riding position. The windscreen can also be repositioned, revised rubber mounts for the engine, inverted 41mm long-travel fork and a new remotely adjustable shock absorber.

The 649cc parallel twin engine has also been retuned for improved low and mid range torque and better fuel efficiency. Kawasaki claims an output of 69PS at 8500 revs and 64Nm torque at 7000rpm. The bike also gets revised brakes, with new calipers, pads, master cylinder and brake discs.

2015 Kawasaki Versys 100

The larger sibling, the Versys 1000 also receives a sportier twin-headlight design, adjustable windscreen. The Versys 1000 is powered by the same 1043cc inline-four engine as the Ninja 1000 and Z1000, claiming 119PS at 9000rpm and 101Nm of torque at 7500rpm.

As with the earlier model, the new Versys 1000 comes with ABS and three-level traction control packages as standard. The bikes will be available in the US as well as Europe, but we do hope Kawasaki brings both these trims of the Versys to India as well.
