2014 Harley-Davidson World Ride dates announced

The 2014 edition of the World Ride will be run on 22nd and 23rd June. The event which was initiated by the Harley Owners Group (HOG) in 2008 as a one-day affair christened Million Mile Monday in 2008, was renamed to World Ride and expanded as a two-day annual event in 2013. The World Ride is basically an occasion where Harley-Davidson owners from respective cities meet and commence on a two-day journey that includes city and cross-country riding, and everything in between.

Every kilometre clocked by the rider in World Ride counts, as one can log on to the online mileage accumulator at the official website of Harley-Davidson, where a rolling odometer will record the collective distance travelled by all participants in the World Ride. The 2013 edition of Harley World Ride saw riders from across 65 countries participate and they collectively clocked more than 160 lakh kilometres. India was amongst the top five counties as Indian riders accounted for 9.83 lakh kilometres of the global tally. For 2014 Harley-Davidson World Ride, all the 13 dealerships of the American two-wheeler manufacturer in our country will host variety of dealer-led events.

Furthermore, over 100 Harley-Davidson owners have decided to ride till Khajurao, Madhya Pradesh as part of this year’s event. Participants can post their mileage clocked onto the World Ride website from mobile devices and share their riding stories alongwith pictures on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter by using the hashtag #HDworldride. Riders can also download a certificate of participation after registering their mileage on the World Ride website.
