Skoda Octavia RS India Launch In November: Top 5 Things You Need To Know

Skoda had showcased the Octavia RS at Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 to much fanfare and now the Czech carmaker will launch the performance sedan in November this year. Being one of India’s most liked performance cars, the new Octavia RS comes in its latest avatar with a more luxurious interior, a new design, mind boggling performance and more tech too. Here are the top 5 things you should know about it:

Thrilling Performance

This is why the Skoda Octavia RS makes it feel special! The new Octavia RS will be powered by a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine, paired with a 7-speed DSG transmission. The engines deliver 265 PS and 370 Nm and send it to the front wheels. This means that the Octavia RS can do the 0-100 km/h sprint in a matter of 6.4 seconds with a limited top speed of 250 km/h. Other goodies also include dynamic chassis control, limited slip differential, stiffer suspension, more powerful brakes and a quicker steering rack to handle the extra muscle under the hood.

Classy Design

The new Octavia RS, while based on the standard Octavia gets a more aggressive and sportier look. At the front, there is a sharper looking bumper with a blacked out butterfly grille. Moving on towards the side profile, the car sits at a lower ride height while also getting large 18-inch alloy making it look athletic. 

As for the rear end, the changes are more subtle although still noticeable. There is a new bumper with vertical air flaps on either side to improve aerodynamics. It also gets a new bootlid spoiler and a faux diffuser to complete the package. Skoda is also expected to offer the Octavia RS in some bold colour schemes to up the style quotient.

Smart Interior

Inside, while the cabin bears resemblance to the standard Octavia, there are a lot of RS-specific changes. Skoda has added sports seats which offer additional bolstering to keep you in place during cornering. The interior comes finished with black upholstery with contrast red stitching, stainless steel pedal covers and a three-spoke flat bottom steering wheel to give a sporty feel. A minimalist theme carries on with a 13-inch touchscreen taking the centre stage.

Gadgetry

Technology is the name of the game today and Skoda has ensured the Octavia RS doesn’t stay behind. The feature list is long and includes a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, a 13-inch touchscreen with ChatGPT AI Assistant, ambient lighting, wireless smartphone charger with ventilation, powered, heated and massaging front seats with adjustable lumbar support, dual-zone climate control and ambient lighting.

In addition to all the features, the Octavia RS also scores high on the safety front. It gets 10 airbags, electronic stability control, all wheel disc brakes along with a comprehensive ADAS suite including driver drowsiness detection, auto emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control. That said, it remains to be seen if the India-spec Octavia RS will get the ADAS suite or not. 

Price And Competition

Prices for the new Octavia RS are expected to start around the Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom) mark. There are no direct rivals for the same although cars which come close include the Volkswagen Golf GTI and Mini Cooper S.
