Brags of a claimed range of 150km and a host of connectivity features

After releasing a bunch of teasers, Hop Electric has finally launched the Oxo motorcycle in India.

What's The Price? Who Are Its Rivals?

The Hop Oxo has been launched with a price tag of Rs 1.25 lakh for the standard model and Rs 1.40 lakh (both prices inclusive of FAME-II subsidy and GST) for the Oxo-X variant. This electric motorcycle goes up against the likes of the Revolt RV400, Tork Kratos and the recently launched Oben Rorr. Bookings have already commenced at Rs 999 tonight onwards. The product will be available across 14 states and 500 dealership

What's New?

The Hop Oxo’s design isn’t outlandish and the EV looks like any other commuter. In fact, the headlight of this electric motorcycle seems to be straight off the Yamaha FZ-Fi Version 2.0. It gets a pretty compact taillight.

The Hop Oxo uses a 5.2kW motor which is claimed to produce 3kW of continuous power and 185Nm at the wheel. Its top variant packs a 6.3kW motor with a continuous output of 3kW. Hop Electric has given the bike three riding modes – Eco, Power and Sport.

Additionally, the Oxo-X also features a ‘Turbo’ mode. The top variant, it is claimed, can achieve a top speed of 90kmph in Turbo mode and can accelerate from 0-40kmph in four seconds.

The EV comes with a 3.75kWh Lithium-ion battery pack and a claimed range of 150km (for both variants). This is the same as the claimed range of the Oben Rorr and the Revolt RV 400. Interestingly, the Hop Oxo can be charged at any 16A socket using the portable smart charger. The EV’s claimed charging time (0-80 per cent) is under four hours.

The Hop Oxo features rather basic underpinnings with telescopic fork and dual shocks taking up suspension duties, while braking has been entrusted to disc brakes at both ends which come with a combined braking system.

Furthermore, there’s also dynamic regenerative braking which is unique in this segment. Interestingly, Hop Electric has used a 18-/17-inch alloy wheel setup for the Oxo which comes with 180mm of ground clearance.

Hop Electric has used a five-inch LCD instrument console with features like smartphone connectivity, navigation, speed control, geo fencing, anti-theft and ride stats.

ZigSays

The Hop Oxo joins the ranks of the Tork Kratos and Oben Rorr. Though the product looks promising, we hope it doesn’t fade away after the launch, just many products in recent times.
