Toyota Innova Hycross To Debut In India On This Date

• Global unveiling to take place in Indonesia soon, India debut on November 25.

The Toyota Innova Hycross finally has a debut date! The all-new MPV is set to break cover in India on November 25, after which its first deliveries are expected to commence in January 2023. Although it’ll occupy the same segment as the current Innova Crysta, which will be sold alongside the Hycross, we expect it to carry a higher price tag of Rs 20 lakh onwards (ex-showroom).

The Innova Hycross gets a host of firsts for the Innova nameplate which we’ll be detailing in this report.  

Innova Hycross specs 

As standard, the Innova Hycross will be powered by a new 2-litre petrol engine that’s expected to produce around 170PS, likely paired with a CVT gearbox. The same engine will also be available with a strong-hybrid powertrain with a higher combined output of around 190PS. Both these engines are offered on the Corolla overseas.  

The Innova Hycross is an all-new MPV that’s based on a monocoque platform (the earlier Innova was always body-on-frame). It’ll bring several new features to the Innova, as discussed below. 

Which features will be offered on the Innova Hycross? 

A previous leak has already revealed that the new Innova will get a sunroof this time around, and a panoramic one at that. In addition, it is also expected to get a longer list of creature comforts from its stablemate, the Hyryder compact SUV, such as ventilated front seats, a larger touchscreen and head-up display (HUD). 

In a first for Toyota in India, the Innova Hycross will also get the Toyota Safety Sense suite of driver-assistance and active safety features. It’ll offer frontal collision prevention, lane keeping assist and adaptive cruise control among other features.

The Innova Hycross has already been teased in Indonesia and is expected to make its global debut in that country first. In India, as with the current Innova, the Hycross will have no similarly-priced MPV competitors but will offer a more premium alternative to the Kia Carens and Mahindra Marazzo.
