To make the most of the excitement of MotoGP coming to India, Idemitsu lubricants has launched a contest for motorcycle enthusiasts & fans. The contest consists of  four rounds where in each round there is a question that has to be answered correctly. Contestants should follow @IdemitsuLubeIndia and @PowerDrift on Facebook/Instagram and drop a comment with the answer. Participants should also like the post and use #IdemitsuGP. For each round, the prizes consist of Idemitsu IRG7 engine oil series - Powerful Nano tailored oil for race-bred acceleration and horsepower for up to 4 Rounds of service in a year* and Idemitsu Merchandise. There is one Grand Prize as well. More Details about MotoGP

Started in 1949, MotoGP is the premier class of motorcycle racing approved by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). The Grand Prix motorcycles that are used in these races are dedicated racing machines. They are raced on race tracks and are usually not road-legal vehicles. The MotoGP is further divided into these classes - MotoGP, Moto2, Moto3 and MotoE. Today, MotoGP bikes are powered by a 1,000cc engine with upto four cylinders generating no more than 230PS. 

For the 2023 Season, MotoGP will have the highest number of races and countries. There are 21 races in the season. The first race of the season was the Portuguese GP from 24th to 26th March. Meanwhile, the Indian GP will be the 14th Race of the season. Interestingly, the Indian GP is not the only new track for 2023. The elite racing series has also roped in the Kazakhstan GP for the 2023 Season. The last race of the season will take place at Valencia from 24th to 26th November.

Earlier this year, the Indian GP, or “Grand Prix of Bharat”, received a provisional approval. One of the reasons for the same was the fact that this track was initially planned for Formula 1. Hence needed homologation and regulatory approvals for the MotoGP event. The race will take place at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida.
