However, an actual curved rear window would have made it look a lot closer to its original design.

At the rear, it continues the clean, minimalistic theme with a flat tailgate, connected taillamp cluster, and another faux silver skid plate on the bumper. The result is a design that feels distinctive and purposeful — instantly recognizable in a crowd of similarly styled compact SUVs. The only thing missing here is a tailgate mounted spare wheel which would have completed the heritage design.

3. A Futuristic Cabin With Premium Features

Step inside the Tata Sierra, and it’s clear that Tata Motors is aiming to set a new benchmark for in-cabin technology and luxury. The highlight of the interior is its connected triple-screen setup, which includes a fully digital instrument cluster, a central touchscreen infotainment display, and a dedicated co-passenger entertainment screen — a first for any Tata model. While official figures haven’t been confirmed yet, the ICE lineup is expected to include a new 1.5-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol engine and a tried and tested 1.5-litre diesel engine. 

The turbo-petrol unit is likely to produce around 170 PS and 280 Nm, while the diesel motor should deliver about 116 PS and 260 Nm. Transmission choices are expected to include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic, ensuring flexibility for both enthusiasts and comfort-focused drivers.

As for the Sierra EV, Tata has yet to reveal its technical details, but it is expected to come with multiple battery pack options and could offer a claimed range of around 450–500 km on a single charge — making it a competitive alternative to other EVs in its segment.

Interestingly, the Sierra will also have an in-house rival in the form of the Tata Curvv, which will share similar underpinnings and powertrains but cater to a slightly younger, more urban audience.

Among its rivals, the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos continue to dominate the segment thanks to their extensive feature lists and multiple powertrain choices, including the only diesel options in the class apart from the Tata Curvv. The Seltos is also set for a new generation soon, with camouflaged prototypes already spotted testing on Indian roads.
