What We Expect From New Variant Of Honda Activa 6G

2023 seems to have started on a promising note for Honda, which It sent us a cryptic invite earlier this month, one that talked about finding a ‘New Smart.’ The last time Honda hyped us up about an Activa, instead of giving us the Activa 7G with substantial updates, it turned up with a special colour series of the existing popular 110cc scooter. So, here’s what we think we can expect from Honda this time. 

You see, we did some digging and found out that the marque is working on a security system for its two-wheelers. The teaser it sent us showed a robotic hand with the word ‘AI’ mentioned, hinting towards a system that works in conjunction with the ECU, which should ensure a foolproof security system. 

We then even got our hands on a homologation document that revealed details about what the upcoming Honda Activa 6G variant's name could be. We, hence, expect this anti-theft feature to be something similar to the Honda Ignition Security System (HISS).

What the HISS essentially does is disable the starting up of the engine by means of electronic control. It comes into play from the moment you remove your key in order to ward off theft. Apart from that, we don’t really expect Honda to make many changes to its ever-popular Activa 6G. The Honda Activa Smart, could hence be the first of many products from the Japanese bikemaker to boast of this piece of safety tech. It’s likely that even the more premium BigWing India products like the Honda CB300F and the H’ness CB350 could get this technology. 

Honda could very well charge a premium of around Rs 3,000 over the cost of the top trim for this tech. For perspective, the standard trim of the Activa 6G retails for Rs 73,359, while the Deluxe variant will set you back by Rs 75,859.
