It will come packed with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation and more

(Update: The TVS Raider SmartXonnect variant has been launched. Check out the launch story here.)

What does the latest social media-obsessed generation want out of their two-wheelers? Well, according to TVS, more connected features. Aptly enough, TVS plans to launch the new variant of its 125cc bike, the Raider, on October 19, that too, in the Metaverse!

For starters, TVS, at the launch of the Raider last year, had announced that the 125cc bike will be getting a top-spec variant sometime soon. Cut – More than a year later – TVS teases the launch of the new variant.

What’s different in the new variant? We are glad you asked. Instead of the LCD cluster, the new variant will feature a five-inch TFT console. Accompanying that is Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, music control, and call/message notification alerts. Yes, Appetising.

Now all of these features come in addition to Eco/Power riding modes (segment-first), real time mileage indicator and reminders for service and low battery.

The powertrain and underpinnings will stay the same as the Disc variant of the Raider, priced at Rs 93,489 (ex-showroom Delhi). The new variant could command a premium of Rs 4,000 over this variant so somewhere around Rs 98,000 (ex-showroom), hitting it a little too close to the Rs 1 lakh mark.

Summing up, the Raider is a rather appealing product in the 125cc segment sporting an attractive design with features and a smooth powertrain to back up. With the upcoming variant, it will be more feature-packed than ever, giving an edge over its rivals that include the Hero Glamour Xtec, Honda SP125 and Bajaj Pulsar NS125.
