Hyundai unveiled and opened bookings for the Ioniq 5 on December 20, 2022.
It’s available in a single variant that retails for Rs 44.95 lakh (ex-showroom).
It is one of the most affordable long-range EVs with a 631km range (ARAI).
Its features include power-adjustable seats, panoramic glass roof and driver-assistance tech.
Hyundai opened bookings for its flagship product, the Ioniq 5 EV, at its unveiling on December 20, 2022. Now, the EV has accumulated over 650 orders in India – decent numbers for a premium EV. The Ioniq 5 is locally assembled in India, which helps Hyundai price the EV more reasonably than some of its rivals that are imported as fully built-up units (commonly known as CBUs).
Although its Rs 44.95 lakh price tag is quite steep for the average car buyer, the Ioniq 5 EV packs a decently long range – 631km according to ARAI. It has a 72.6kWh battery pack and supports ultra-fast DC charging. When charged at its peak rate, it’s possible to replenish the battery to 80 per cent in 18 minutes.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is equipped with premium features such as powered, comfort-oriented Relaxation seats, a panoramic glass roof, dual-zone AC and V2L (vehicle-to-load) tech to power external devices and appliances.

In terms of safety, the Ioniq 5 gets driver-assistance tech with features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist and forward collision avoidance.
The Ioniq 5 EV is available in a single long-range, rear-drive (RWD) variant that retails for Rs 44.95 lakh, undercutting the EV’s primary rivals, the Kia EV6 and Volvo XC40 Recharge. Hyundai is expected to start delivering the Ioniq 5 to customers soon.
