More New Features Confirmed For The 5 Door Mahindra Thar ROXX, Officially Teased Yet Again!

• Mahindra Thar ROXX interior teased again, more features revealed.

Mahindra is geared up and ready to launch the 5 door Thar ROXX on August 15, 2024. Until now, the Indian carmaker has officially teased the Thar ROXX several times, including both exterior as well as interior. It has been revealed that the SUV will get several premium features making it a more premium offering than its 3-door version. The latest teaser now gives us a look at the additional features the Thar ROXX will come packing with.  

Mahindra Thar ROXX: Teaser Decoded 

The video teaser shows us some new features as mentioned above. We can see a couple of buttons that are placed in the lower centre console for features like ventilated front seats, hill descent control and electrically actuated rear differential lock. All of these three features are not offered with the smaller three-door version. 

Ventilated seats are a great addition to the Thar ROXX as it uplifts comfort of the cabin, especially during hot days. Hill Descent Control helps to maintain a constant speed while you are driving down a steep slope. The electronically actuated rear differential lock will direct power the exact rear wheel with more grip, improving the off-road prowess of the SUV. 

Mahindra Thar ROXX: Other Features Onboard

Apart from the aforementioned features, the Thar ROXX gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, rear AC vents, cruise control, steering mounted audio controls, and a Harman Kardon audio system. 

In terms of safety features, it should get 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control and a suite of level-2 ADAS features. 

Mahindra Thar ROXX: Powertrain

The Mahindra Thar ROXX is expected to be launched with two engine options including a 2-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel. Expect these engines to make more power than the Thar 3-door.  It will be paired with either a six-speed manual or an automatic transmission. Both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive options will be offered with the SUV. 

Mahindra Thar ROXX: Price And Rivals

The 5 Door Mahindra Thar ROXX will be launched on August 15, and is expected to be priced from around Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the Force Gurkha 5-door, while being a larger alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Jimny.
