The Mahindra Thar Gets Dearer For The Second Time In 2022

• Thar prices have been hiked by up to Rs 51,000.
• Some diesel variants have been the most affected.
• It locks horns with the Gurkha, its only rival in this space.

For the second time in 2022, Mahindra has increased the asking price of its popular off-roader, the Thar. Prices have been increased by up to Rs 51,000 depending on the variant you pick. The off-roader now retails between Rs 13.53 lakh and Rs 16.03 lakh, and continues to be offered in two trims: AX (O) and LX.

Thar Petrol

• Petrol variants are now dearer by up to Rs 44,000. 

• The Thar petrol is priced between Rs 13.53 lakh and Rs 15.76 lakh. 

Thar Diesel

• Prices of diesel variants of the Thar have been increased by up to Rs 51,000. 

• The base trim (surprisingly) and the LX AT convertible are the most affected. 

• Thar diesel is priced between Rs 13.89 lakh and Rs 16.03 lakh.

The Thar continues to offer buyers the choice of a 150PS 2-litre turbo-petrol and 130PS 2.2-litre diesel engines, paired with either a 6-speed manual or optional 6-speed torque converter automatic. Four-wheel drive with a low range gearbox is standard with both engine options.
