Quick News Highlights

  • KTM 1390 Super Duke GT Spied Testing In Europe

  • Will be based upon the 1390 Super Duke

  • Will get a different state of tune than the Super Duke 1390

The KTM 1390 Super Duke GT is set to replace its 1290 predecessor, and it is said to deliver a solid 190PS. First spotted as a prototype in late 2022, the 1390 Super Duke GT is expected to make its debut in 2025.

Power and Performance

The KTM 1390 Super Duke GT will share its powertrain with the 1390 Super Duke R, which features the latest version of KTM's LC8 V-twin engine. The new 1,350cc V2 engine, with a 75-degree cylinder angle, produces 190PS at 10,000rpm and 145Nm at 8,000rpm paired with a 6-speed gearbox. While the naked Super Duke R reaches speeds of up to 270kmph, the GT will most likely be electronically limited to 250kmph, favoring a more touring-friendly performance.

Updated Design

The KTM 1390 Super Duke GT will feature a revised design with a new front end similar to the 1390 Super Duke R. This includes vertically stacked LED projector lamps in a plastic frame, with LED DRLs placed along the edges.

What Else Can We Expect?

Although the prototype didn't display a front radar, KTM may also introduce adaptive cruise control, similar to what’s on the 1290 Super Adventure. The GT is also likely to retain its 23-litre fuel tank and might also be the first KTM to feature their recently patented automatic transmission.

India Launch

The KTM 1390 Super Duke GT is expected to be launched in Europe in 2025. As for India, the Super Duke GT is unlikely to come anytime soon. KTM might first test the market by launching the Super Duke R and if they receive a positive response, they might just get the Super Duke GT as well, which will go against the Kawasaki H2 SE priced at Rs 27,76,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). KTM also brought the 790 Duke in India a few years back in limited numbers and it did really well! Their fans, though, still await a bigger displacement KTM to launch in India.
