Honda has launched the NS125LA 125cc scooter in China. This retro-themed scooter follows a very European style, similar to what Yamaha has done with the Fascino 125 Hybrid in our market.
The Honda NS125LA gets a very clean, and elegant styling. From its curved body panels, and minimal use of graphics to the retro paint jobs, everything on this Honda seems to be inspired by European scooters. That said, it flaunts modern features like LED illumination all around, an LCD instrument console and even keyless ignition. There’s even a USB charger in the front cubby hole.
Honda has equipped the NS125LA with a 124.9cc single-cylinder engine producing 8.97PS at 7500rpm and 9.87Nm at 6,000rpm. For reference, the Yamaha Fascino 125 Hybrid makes 9.7PS and 10.3Nm. However, the scooter doesn't pack any tech features like start stop system.
The Honda NS125LA features a conventional telescopic fork and a monoshock suspension setup. For braking, the Japanese marque has equipped the scooter with a disc up front and a drum at the rear. This is backed by the safety net of a combined braking system.
The Honda NS125LA has been priced at CNY 11,900 which translates to roughly Rs 1.40 lakh. This scooter is certainly not headed to India. So, if you have been on a lookout for a retro-themed scooter, you are limited to the Yamaha Fascino 125 Hybrid, and if EVs are your thing, the Bajaj Chetak is your only option.
