The facelifted Tata Nexon will get a new two-spoke steering wheel from the Curvv concept.
Central rectangular piece could be a proper display or a backlit Tata logo.
The rectangular screen is flanked by backlit buttons for various functions.
The same steering layout could be offered in the facelifted Harrier and Safari as well.
2024 Nexon will carry a premium over the current model and could go on sale in 2024.
Ever since the facelifted Tata Nexon was first spied on while testing back in March, its spied images haven’t stopped surfacing online. And this time around, we’ve got a closer look at its steering wheel, which is the same one we had seen on the Curvv concept.
As you can see, the two-spoke steering wheel is flanked by the backlit control panels on either side, which house buttons and knobs for various functionalities. But what intrigues us is the rectangular screen between them. We’ve seen it light up the Tata logo, just like your default brand emblem placement in the middle of the steering wheel.
However, we don’t expect its functionality to be limited to just that. Considering the amount of free space on the panel, Tata could well integrate a few graphics that display information relevant to the driver. And while this new layout as a whole is new for the segment, we reckon that the graphic thing (if any) could be offered on its electric versions and even on the Harrier and Safari, if not the facelifted Nexon to begin with.
Design-wise, you get a vertical expansion of sorts around that rectangular panel which is probably for the horn actuation. And because the overall design isn’t hefty and as cluttered as the current one, it does look a lot chic aesthetically. You get a bluish-coloured insert on the flat bottom side of the steering wheel, which is there to match the similarly coloured seat upholstery.

The facelifted Nexon is going to get major design revisions, and if you want to know about them, then you can head over here. It could break cover sometime in 2024 and is likely to carry a steeper price tag than the outgoing model, which is priced from Rs 7.8 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. It will continue to fend off competition from the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Maruti Fronx, Mahindra XUV300 and Nissan Magnite.
