Tata Motors has just rolled out an update for the Altroz, and it's more than just a nip-and-tuck. The 2025 Altroz comes with a fresh look both inside and out, and a range of new variants to choose from. Let’s break down everything you might want to know about this updated hatchback.
First off, let’s talk about the exterior. The front of the new Altroz now has a sharper and sportier look that makes it a bit aggressive in appearance. The grille has undergone a makeover with glossy black accents, and the bumper has been redesigned to enhance its sporty look, much like what we see in the 2025 Tiago. It still appears familiar, but certainly feels new.
The DRLs are now updated and occupy a neater position within the headlamp cluster.
Not mere aesthetics, these provide the hatchback with a sharper visual identity, particularly when lit. Aesthetic enough for the gram, eh?
As we move to the rear, the first thing to notice is the connected LED tail lamp, which is in line with the current trend, making sure that your car doesn’t feel out of place.
You will also notice a tweaked bumper with a slightly cleaner design.
The 2025 Altroz facelift brings in a new set of trendy 16-inch alloy wheels. They appear sportier and help make the side profile look sleeker. While it may be limited to the top trims, the lower trims could also get updated wheel covers that remain premium-looking for their class.
Inside, the most significant upgrade is the new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment. It is also larger and gets Tata's latest UI, the same that we have seen with the Punch EV and the Nexon, making it quicker, smoother, and overall nicer to use.
As a part of upgrading their product portfolio, Tata Motors has added the new 2-spoke steering with the illuminated logo in the Altroz facelift.
Right behind the new steering wheel is the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, once more borrowed from larger Tata siblings. It's a neat little addition that shows navigation, music information, and driving data in a much more visually appealing format.
Tata has stuffed in some useful features this time around, such as a wireless charging pad, a 360-degree camera, an auto-dimming IRVM, and more. While there’s no confirmation, we expect ventilated seats to be added as well, which we have seen with the Altroz’s performance-oriented brother, i.e. the Altroz Racer.
While this is yet to be revealed, mechanically, things remain the same as the outgoing Altroz. It retains the 1.2-litre NA petrol, 1.2-litre petrol + CNG, and the 1.5-litre diesel engines. The transmission options, manual and DCA automatic, are expected to be carried over.
The 2025 Altroz now adheres to Tata's newer trim-naming scheme. So instead of the previous XE, XM, and XT models, you now have Smart, Pure, Creative, Accomplished, and Accomplished+ S.
The updated 2025 Tata Altroz facelift is confirmed to be launched on the 22nd May. We expect the prices to start around the Rs 7 lakh mark.
It will continue to compete with contenders such as the Maruti Baleno, Hyundai i20, and Toyota Glanza, but with added tech and newer looks this time.
