When Tata revealed the Curvv, it became the first SUV coupe in a segment dominated by traditionally-styled SUVs. However, the Curvv’s body style is not the only thing that makes it unique in the compact SUV space, as Tata will also offer it with various segment-first features. In this report, we will list all the segment-first features that the Tata Curvv will be offered with. Check it out.
First and foremost is its SUV coupe body design, which, unsurprisingly, sets it apart from the regular boxy-shaped SUVs in its segment. The ICE-powered Curvv, which will rival popular models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Grand Vitara, not only offers a sportier design with its sloping roofline but also features additional design elements, such as chunky wheel arches, bumpers, and cladding, that enhance its muscular stance.
Another unique design element of the Curvv are the flush-fitted door handles, which add a premium touch to its styling. This will be a first in its segment, as its rivals feature traditional door handles. In fact, the only other mass-market SUV with flush door handles is the Mahindra XUV700, which sits in a segment higher than the Curvv.
Tata added a sense of attractiveness to Nexon EV’s design with the unique welcome and goodbye animations on the headlamps and tail lamps. This design element will be included in the Curvv, featuring animations whenever you enter or leave the car. Although a quirk, it will be a segment-first in the compact SUV space. Additionally, the Curvv EV will use these animations to indicate the charge percentage when plugged in.
The Tata Curvv will come equipped with a big 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This is not only larger than the 10.25-inch screens found in the Creta and Seltos but also the first in the segment to offer such a large infotainment unit. Like other Tata models, it will feature wireless Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto, and other connected car features.
Finally, the Curvv will also be offered with a powered tailgate, a feature its rivals lack. It will include gesture-based control, further adding to its functionality. This will be a first in its segment, where its rivals offer electric tailgate release at most.
These are the segment-first features that the Tata Curvv will come equipped with. Tata will launch the ICE-powered Curvv later this year, post the launch of the Curvv EV, which is scheduled for August 7, 2024. Let us know in the comments which feature you find most appealing.
