The new generation of one of India’s favourite mid-size SUVs, the Kia Seltos, is set to be unveiled tomorrow, and the excitement has started building already. From the teasers released so far, it is clear that the SUV is getting a completely new exterior design with updated styling, and it is also expected to come loaded with several new features as well. Let’s take a quick look at everything we know so far before the official reveal:
The 2026 Seltos appears to have taken on a more boxy, upright, and dominating stance as compared to the current model. The teasers released by Kia hint towards a redesigned front end featuring noticeably larger, more sculpted grille, flanked by vertical LED DRLs and a reworked headlight setup. It also gets a redesigned front bumper with squarer lines, giving the SUV a more mature and confident look.

At the rear, the 2026 Seltos is expected to sport newly designed LED taillights, with a C-shaped signature, along with a cleaner, more refined tailgate design. Over to the side, the SUV will get updated alloy wheel designs and subtle revisions along the profile to complete the visual aesthetics. Overall, Kia seems to be aiming towards a stronger road presence while still retaining the core styling identity that has defined the Seltos so far.

Although Kia hasn’t released any teaser for the interior yet, spy shots suggest that the cabin is set for a complete redesign. The dashboard is expected to be far more contemporary, with a neater arrangement of screens. Higher variants are most likely to retain the dual 12.3-inch displays or possibly adopt a triple-screen display setup similar to the Kia Syros’s ‘Trinity Display’.

The cabin is expected to get updated materials, more premium seat upholstery, refreshed steering-mounted controls, and a new switchgear. In terms of features, Kia confirmed that it will get to a panoramic sunroof, while the list could also include front seats with ventilation and electric adjustment, dual-zone climate control, Level-2 ADAS, etc, although their availability will vary depending upon the variant.

The 2026 Kia Seltos will most likely continue with the existing powertrain options, which include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Manual, torque converter automatic, CVT, and DCT transmission options should continue, too. Here are the detailed specifications:

Kia is also expectedly to be working on a new strong-hybrid powertrain system; reports suggest that this hybrid powertrain will make its debut with the upcoming Seltos internationally. Although it is still unknown whether Kia would launch this powertrain in India, but if it did, it would bring a big boost in efficiency and performance of the car, giving a tough fight to rivals.
The pricelist of the new-gen Kia Seltos is expected to be released by early 2026, but considering the pricing of the outgoing model and the anticipated updates on the new model, we expect the 2026 Seltos to be priced from Rs 11.5 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base model, while the top-of-the-line variant could be priced upwards of Rs 21 lakh (ex-showroom).
Once launched, the 2026 Kia Seltos will continue to rival popular names in the segment, like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Victoris, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Tata Sierra and Curvv, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, and the German siblings, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun. Renault's upcoming 2026 Duster and its sibling, the Nissan Tekton, are also expected to be other contenders against the 2026 Seltos.
With the new-gen Kia Seltos unveiling tomorrow, expectations are high, and Kia will have to prove it can keep the Seltos ahead of an increasingly competitive market. The new model is expected to come loaded with a ton of features and an all-new exterior and interior. The car has already created a hype around itself, and if priced well, the Seltos has the potential to become Kia’s next big hit, and it can easily establish itself again in the mid-size SUV segment in India.
