  • Skoda Kushaq Style AT was initially offered with two airbags only.
  • Czech carmaker later offered an option of six airbags for a premium.
  • Going forward, the Style AT will get six airbags only.
  • The Slavia is the next big launch from Skoda India.

Going forward, the 2022 Skoda Kushaq’s top-spec Style automatic variants will be offered with six airbags only. The latest development has been confirmed by Skoda India’s boss, Zac Hollis. Earlier, the 2021 Skoda Kushaq Style automatic was offered with a choice of either two airbags or optional six airbags.

During launch, the Kushaq Style AT was offered with only two airbags while the same in manual came with six. The intent was to keep costs in check, but it came at the cost of safety, and that didn’t work out well for the Kushaq’s image, especially when similarly priced rivals and its badge-shared sibling, the Taigun, have six airbags in their respective top-spec trims.

That said, Skoda quickly rectified it by offering customers the option of six airbags for a premium. And from now onwards, all Kushaq Style AT variants manufactured from 2022 onwards will not get the option of two airbags.
