Yamaha Launches Sportier Alternative to NMax 155 in Taiwan

It will be sold alongside other 150cc scooters like the NMax and Tricity

 Yamaha Force 155 scooter Launched in Taiwan

Yamaha has launched the 2020 Force 155 scooter in Taiwan at 33,800 Hong Kong Dollars (Rs 3,31,622). It is a sportier alternative to other 150cc scooters like the Nmax 155 and 3-wheeled Tricity. For 2020, the Force 155 gets a new Silver Star colour option. It is available in three other colours: Glossy Black, Matte Black and White. Other than the paint update, the Force 155 remains cosmetically and mechanically unchanged.

The Force 155 gets quite a few motorcycle design influences like the longer travel suspension, apron-mounted windscreen, motorcycle-styled exposed handlebar, exhaust end can, and aluminium pillion footpegs.it also gets an apron mounted motorcycle type fuel filler cap. Features include twin halogen headlamps and a digital instrument console. Now the Yamaha Majesty 155 was unveiled in Japan a couple of months ago with all-LED lighting though the Force 155 gets none of that.

Power comes from a 155cc liquid-cooled motor. While Yamaha has not revealed power figures, we expect it to be around the same 14.96PS and 14Nm as the new Majesty 155. It has a claimed fuel-efficiency of 36.8kmpl and a large 7.4-litre fuel tank.

Underpinnings include telescopic forks and a monoshock. The Force 155 is the only 155cc Yamaha scooter to get a centrally mounted monoshock. It gets 13-inch alloy wheels fitted with 120/70-13 front and 130/70-13 rear tyres. Braking is via a large 267mm front and a 245mm rear petal disc.

Yamaha India plans to get another 155cc scooter, the NMax 155 to India, however, the ongoing pandemic and switch to BS6 emission norms could delay its arrival to our shores.
