Benelli has launched the TNT 600i in China and it is soon heading to our shores. Here's a detailed look at the upcoming 600cc sportsbike

Benelli's sister parent company Zhejiang Qianjiang Motorcycle Group has launched the SRK 600 in China. The new motorcycle is essentially the facelifted version of Benelli's TNT 600i and is widely anticipated to be launched here with Benelli badging. The SRK 600 or upcoming TNT 600i gets an all-new design and premium features. Here's a closer look at the upcoming 2020 Benelli TNT 600i:

The TNT 600i gets a minimalist bodywork and a new seat. It all-new design language is a lot more aggressive and sporty than the bulky looking Benelli TNT 600i BS4. 

The new headlamp cowl looks similar to the Kawasaki Z1000. It gets LED lighting and consists of an LED central beam flanked by two projector lamps.

It's tail section too gets a cleaner look thanks to the number plate holder being relocated on the tyre hugger.

The other reason for the slimmer looking tail lamp is the two huge underseat exhausts cans being replaced by a single underslung unit. The twin-can deletion delivers significant weight savings. In fact, the China-spec SRK 600 weighs a whopping 33kg less than the Benelli TNT 600i sold here.

Apart from red and white the 2020 TNT 600i is expected to come in black and blue paint schemes. The new bike also gets a premium looking gold finish on the forks and exhaust headers. Its frame now has been painted completely black.

Apart from all LED lighting, the upcoming TNT 600i will get a colour TFT digital instrument console. It has large fonts and displays the speedometer, tachometer, gear position indicator, fuel gauge, temperature gauge, clock, odometer and telltale lights. It also gets keyless ignition. 

The updated motorcycle uses the same 600cc in-line four-cylinder motor as the Benelli TNT 600i. It delivers 81.5PS at 11,000rpm and 55Nm at 8000rpm. In comparison, the India-spec TNT 600i's power outputs are 85.07PS at 11,500rpm and 54.6Nm at 10,500rpm. According to QJ Motor, the SRK600 can go from 0 to 100kmph in 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 210kmph.

The new motorcycle continues to use a trellis frame, upside-down forks and side-mounted monoshock while braking is via dual front discs with radially-mounted calipers and a rear disc. . The suspension components though vary depending on the variants on offer -- Standard, Medium and High. With the base variant, you get Benelli branded suspension and brake components. On the Medium version, you get KYB suspension and Chinese branded Xihu brakes. The top-spec variant gets Marzocchi front forks, KYB monoshock and Brembo brakes.

The Chinese-spec SRK 600 is priced at CNY 43,999 (about Rs 4.68 lakh) for the Standard variant, CNY 46,999 (around Rs 5 lakh) for the Medium variant and CNY 49,999 (approximately Rs 5.32 lakh) for the High variant. The bike will come to India via the CKD route and is expected to be priced around Rs 7 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Given the delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we expect the new Benelli TNT 600i to be launched here by mid-2021.
