The exterior and interior of the Citroen’s electric hatchback resemble largely with its ICE-powered iteration

  • Citroen eC3’s cabin gets a new setup for the gear lever.

  • Other cabin bits are similar to the standard model.

  • Could get additional features like electric ORVMs and rear wiper.

  • Expected to offer a range of around 350km.

  • Likely to be priced from around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).

Citroen eC3 – the electric iteration of the C3 hatchback, as confirmed by the marque just a few days prior, has been spied testing yet again ahead of its expected debut in January. This time, the spy shots give us the first look at the cabin of the electric hatchback so let's take a look at what’s what.

Just like the exterior, the interior of the eC3 is very much similar to the standard model. The dashboard design, infotainment screen, switches for manual aircon control, and steering wheel design are all carbon copies of the ICE-powered C3. But this being an electric offering, the gear lever is absent, replaced by a toggle switch similar to the more premium C5 Aircross.

Given the fact that the standard C3 misses out on some basic features like a rear wiper and electric ORVMs, we expect Citroen to offer those in the eC3 along with its standard list of features, including the 10-inch infotainment screen, steering-mounted controls, and power windows. Its safety kit is expected to get features such as dual airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, and seat belt reminder.

Previous spy shots have revealed how the eC3 could sport EV-specific design cues to distinguish it from the petrol-powered model. It should get multiple battery pack options, including a 50kWh pack, and should be capable enough of offering a range of around 350km with fast-charging compatibility. Power figures are unknown, but it could be paired to a 136PS e-motor from overseas Stellantis EV models such as the Peugeot 308.

A price tag of around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) is expected to be quoted, which would slot it in the same price bracket as the Tata Tiago EV. It will also rival the upcoming Tata Punch EV, which is expected to make a debut soon as well.
