Toyota Hilux Likely To Launch On January 20, Details And Specifications Revealed

Toyota India will most likely be launching the Hilux pickup truck on January 20. Bookings will begin soon after its launch for a token of Rs 1 lakh, and deliveries will start from March. Ahead of its arrival, we bring you the Hilux’s technical specifications, warranty package, and colour options.

Powertrain Options

Internationally, the Hilux will be powered by two diesel engine options: 150PS 2.4-litre and 208PS 2.8-litre units. Thankfully, India will get the more powerful engine, paired with a 6-speed manual and an optional torque converter automatic. A four-wheel drivetrain (with a low-range gearbox) will also be on offer for those seeking adventure. 

The Toyota Hilux won’t get a petrol engine. 

Colour Options

The Hilux will get five exterior shades: Emotional Red, Grey Metallic, White Pearl, Silver Metallic, and Super White.

Toyota will offer the Hilux with a standard warranty of 3 years or 1 lakh km (whichever is earlier). Customers can also avail the optional extended warranty package ranging up to 5 years or 2.2 lakh km. 

Local Assembly 

Thankfully, Toyota will assemble the Hilux at its Karnataka facility, and it could share certain parts with the Fortuner like the infotainment system, instrument cluster, climate control, and steering wheel. This should…

The document states the Hilux will be priced in the range of the Jeep Compass, which retails between Rs 19.49 lakh and Rs 29.34 lakh (ex-showroom India). We expect the pickup truck to cost anywhere between Rs 25 lakh and Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom).

Trims and Rivals

The carmaker could offer it in two trims: Hilux and Hilux Revo. The upcoming pickup truck will lock horns with the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross.
