With 75PS of power and 190Nm of torque at its disposal, the Xcent is now more potent than before. It’s the same 1.2-litre diesel engine offered in the updated Grand i10 and feels very similar to use. Hit the push button starter and the motor announces its awakening with a noticeable amount of vibrations that only smoothen out once you’re on the move.Once you get going, though, in mere seconds you understand that this powertrain is ideal for the city. The clutch is light and bites early, and you can crawl ahead without actually needing to use the accelerator pedal. Dab the A-pedal and progress is quick.

Xcent is a good car, while moving in city. I am driving xcent for the past 2 and half years, CNG version, but i must be candid enough to say the performance deteriorates with CNG, but still the car is running good, except that the engine has now slowed down.

  • Q. Petrol or diesel, which car is suitable for me as my running is near about only 800km per month. - Xcent?
    Devang

Your running per year is less than 10000km which saves say 12k per year and what you pay more for diesel version takes about 7 to 8 years for recovery and then the benefits starts. So go for petrol version only.

  • Q. How you feel while driving the hyundui xcent car??

With 75PS of power and 190Nm of torque at its disposal, the Xcent is now more potent than before. Once you get going, though, in mere seconds you understand that this powertrain is ideal for the city. The clutch is light and bites early, and you can crawl ahead without actually needing to use the accelerator pedal. Dab the A-pedal and progress is quick. The Xcent is, of course, heavier than the Grand i10 and the gearing does seem to have been tweaked a bit too. So while the Grand had no perceptible turbo-lag, it is noticeable in the Xcent. Revving the motor makes it feel strained and get louder, but power tapers off quickly. There’s a healthy mid-range as well, so sharp inclines can be taken in 2nd or 3rd gear and you can let the revs drop a fair bit before the need to shift down a cog comes up. Out on the highway, the Xcent will gladly do speeds of 100-120kmph without breaking a sweat. It can go well beyond that too, but it prefers cruising at a constant speed over brief high speed runs. The snappy gearbox is great to use and the gear gates are well defined, making the Xcent pleasant to drive. Click on the link to more: https://bit.ly/2piWNAW

  • Q. I am planning to buy Xcent S AT How will be the mileage performance in city & Highway after inserting CNG kit?
    Zigwheels
    Zigwheels | 11 months ago

Hyundai Xcent doesn't comes with company fitted CNG. Although, the ARAI claimed mileage of Hyundai Xcent Diesel and Xcent Petrol is 25.4 kmpl and 20.14 kmpl respectively. Whereas, the claimed ARAI mileage for the automatic variant Hyundai Xcent Petrol is 17.36 kmpl. Though, CNG is most economical way to run a car. CNG improves mileage and is also cost effective as against Petrol or Diesel. It is always recommended to get the CNG kit fitted from the authorized service center so that you can avail the warranty services as well. If you get it installed from some other sources, then it may hamper your warranty. On the other hand, please make sure that the CNG kit that you are installing is RTO approved to avoid future troublesome. Also, the mileage with CNG kit would depends on the type of CNG kit is fitted in your car. Though, we suggest you to get in touch with the authorized service center to know the nitty-gritty of the fittings as they will be the best people to suggest you the compatible CNG kit for your car: https://bit.ly/2NNFO2C

You cant fit CNG in automatic car. For cng fitment, car has to be manual only. Even if some tries fitting cng to automatic engine in any car, there will always be a risk for engine malfunctioning and making its occupants at risk always.
