I drive a Datsun Redi-Go S (O) 2016 model and have experienced no problems so far. It is one of the cheapest and coolest budget cars in its segment. The only problem is its mileage. While the company promises a mileage of 20-24 kmpl, the car actually gives a mileage of 14-16 kmpl. Also, at the time, the car didn't come with LED display features and a rearview camera. I think it still doesn't. If you maintain your car well, you can get a good exchange value for it directly from the showroom and stray away from the hassle of selling it off and then buying a new car. In terms of comforts, it is quite comfortable for people with a height of less than 6 feet. It has a 5 seater capacity, and a great boot capacity too. But, it doesn't have good ground clearance and you would probably face problems while driving in the city. However, it is a good car for those who are looking to buy a budget car within a range of 4 lakh or so. I bought the car at a price of 3.5 lakhs in 2016. Today, the price of the same car is much more. So, even after being used for 3 years and 24000 kms I can still get a good market price for the same, even though people might say I won't.

Each car have a different purpose to serve, and might not fit it everyone's requirement list & that is why we've plethora of options in the Indian market to meets majority of needs/wants. There are some downside in Redi-GO: - Internally adjustable wing mirrors absent. - No dual airbags or ABS even in the top variant. Gets only single airbag for driver. - Limited service stations. ZW Says: It offers good headroom and usable cabin space. A high seating position offers a good view of the road ahead, and the healthy ground clearance of 185mm allows you to overcome larger speed bumps without scraping the belly.

You may have a look at S variant, While DRLs help enhance the outlook of the car a bit, it is the added safety that makes this variant ideal for those who drive alone most of the time. For anyone who is buying his/her first car and can spend around Rs 4 lakh on the redi-GO, the S (with 1.0-litre engine) is the perfect fit.

  • Q. How smooth is the driving? And how much mileage can be expected in city traffic? Kindly reply. - redi-GO?

The redi-GO has a 799cc and a 999cc engine, both of which are available in a 3-cylinder configuration. Power output for the two motors stands at 54PS and 68PS while the torque is rated at 72Nm and 91Nm, respectively. Both the powertrains are paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. For 0.8 liter engine, don’t go looking for driving thrills. But, if you are the sort of person who only wants to potter around from point A to point B in relative comfort, then this could be the right car for you. Datsun claims that the redi-GO can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 15.9 seconds and achieve a top speed of 140km/h. However, if you do drive it sedately, it returns a respectable 22.7kmpl as per ARAI's new test cycle. If we talk about 1.0 liter engine, the increase in power, though not perceivable in an outright manner, becomes evident while tackling inclines or when travelling with a full house. Compared to the 0.8-litre variant, this car feels a lot more refined. Getting a move on is quicker and smoother as well. Engine vibrations can be felt inside the cabin, but are better controlled than in the 0.8-litre variant. The car managed to take on a few sharp inclines with two passengers in third gear with the engine showing no signs of strain. In the redi-GO 0.8, such inclines would certainly have to be taken in a lower gear. The claimed fuel economy is 22.5kmpl, which is expected to be close to real-world numbers as it has been tested according to the new ARAI regulations. Actual mileage figure will depend on riding style, traffic conditions and how it is maintained.

We would suggest you to check the user manual for the same as it will be having all the details related to it. Moreover, get your bike checked at authorized service center as it would be unfair to give a verdict without proper inspection of it.

Essentially, this car is not tuned for performance but for fuel efficiency. So, don’t go looking for driving thrills. It gets, Low Fuel Warning Light, Gear Shift Indicator, Electronic Multi-Tripmeter, Heater, Engine Check Warning etc. We would sugest you to go for A variant as it gets Air Conditioner, Power Steering, Glove Compartmen, Accessory Power Outlet which are needed features.
