Yes, it will be a good upgrade as Ford Freestyle has a boot space of 257 L. Also, Freestyle is better equipped with features as compare to Maruti Wagon R. You can also take Freestyle on bad roads as it has a ground clearance of 190 mm.

  • Q. Please tell me about Space and comfort - Freestyle?

The Freestyle shares its cabin with the Figo hatchback. However, it gets some much-needed enhancements that certainly lifts the mood inside. The cluttered and button-heavy centre console has been replaced with a sleek, floating 6.5-inch touchscreen. The brown-and-black fabric seat upholstery complements the dashboard well. The all-weather rubber mats add a sense of ruggedness too. Interestingly, you see the new mat in the boot as well. So, there are no cost-cutting measures here. The Freestyle’s cabin space remains identical to the Figo, which means space for the rear passengers is a little tight. At 1300mm, the Freestyle does offer more shoulder room than alternatives like the Maruti Swift (1265mm) and Hyundai Grand i10 (1225mm). However, the seat base width is a full 35mm shorter than the Swift’s while the underthigh support is 20mm short. It is a 4-seater at best, but there is decent knee room on offer for even tall adults. In fact, the Freestyle betters the new Swift, which is a spacious car itself. At 257 litres, the boot space is identical to the regular Figo. The 30mm wider track (the distance between the two wheels mounted on the same axle) at the front and rear help improve stability and offers better cornering as well. The wider track also gives the Freestyle a better stance as the wheels jut out from its wells ever so slightly.

  • Q. How is the back passenger seat in terms of space - Freestyle?

It's just about average. Nothing great. The main issue is width. Three people won't be comfortable in the rear seat. There's also no storage space for occupants at the rear.

Freestyle is ideal. It has the best Engine, more space in the interior and best Engine in its class. Ground clearance is highest

Ford Freestyle is not equipped with music system in its base variant. Hence, we would suggest you to go for its upper trim i.e. Trend trim as it comes with Audio With AM/FM, MP3, Microphone, USB 1 Port, Bluetooth, 4 Speakers(2 Front And 2 Rear, touchscreen infotainment system. The Titanium variant is packed with 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

  • Q. I am planning to buy a Petrol car for Family of 04 with need of a good boot space + back seat space for 03. Searched number of cars including Honda Amaze (underpower engine), I20(Cramped space on back seat), Baleno(Body is pathetic) and zeroed on Ford Freestyle (Though with less boot space) but a mind blowing pick up, less noisy, Superb A/c. However still confused as I saw Tigor recently having good boot space and back seat.. Only issue is noise in Engine and Tata name !!! Please advise.

I have booked Freestyle Titanium 1.2P this June, I too had the confusion between Tigor & Freestyle, let me help you to narrow it down. 1. Pricing is so effective in Freestyle for the things & features offered in Trend(2nd from Base) or Titanium(2nd Top) variant of Freestyle as compared to the Top Model of Tigor, like airbags available in all variants of Freestyle. and Traction control & ARP (Titanium) and Rear Camera 2. Yes Engine is powerful than Tigor( Both having 3 cylinders, 1200cc) 3. Rear seat of Tigor is more comfortable & you get arm rest & 3 people will fit tight in both brands and middle one also gets head rest in Tigor. 4. In both cars if average height of individual is around is 5.8" then no issues or else then rear will not get comfortable headroom. 5. Freestyle is a perfect drivers car. 6. Freestyle has 190mm ground clearance 7. Service interval in Ford is almost 1 year & Tata is 6 months. 8. Here it wins Tigor gets Huge Boot 419 litres and one of the biggest in the segment but we will not be always carrying huge luggage, in case of Freestyle rear seat can be rolled down to carry some more luggage. or you can mount the supports to carry over the roof rails in Freestyle for upto 50kgs
