Tata is out of question. Ford Endy is too costly and not worth it. I suggest you wait for the PS AT 2020 model and the make up your mind.

  • Q. How is the maintenance and performance of Mitsubishi Pajero Sport?

Maintenance is limited to regular service only. Does not require any major parts except brake pads. At least I have not changed any parts other than the pads and the recommended set of Timing belt and tensioners at one lakh kms. Performance is superb. No comparison with the PS in off roading.

The Ford Endeavor comes with a choice of two diesel engines. One is a 2.2-litre 4-cylinder unit that produces 160PS of max power and 385Nm of peak torque. The other is a 3.2-litre, 5-cylinder engine that churns out 200PS of max power and 470Nm of peak torque. Both engines are mated to the same 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The 2.2-litre engine comes with rear-wheel-drive only while the 3.2-litre engine drives all four wheels. It gets disc brakes all around along with 18-inch wheels adorned with 265 section dual purpose tyres. The Endeavour is a very capable machine and a large SUV with an imposing road presence rivalled only the Toyota Fortuner. But where the Endeavour shines when compared to its arch-nemesis is its off-road capability. Anyone who ranks luxury and off-road capability above all else should definitely consider the Ford Endeavour.

Producing a maximum power of 175.56 bhp@4000rpm, the new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is equipped with 5-Speed manual transmission. Accelerating from 0-100 kmph in 12.1 seconds, the car reaches at a top speed of 190 kmph and brings out a mileage of 13.5 kmpl and 11.5 kmpl on highways and in city respectively. Apart from this, interiors, design and safety feature like ABS with EBD and SRS airbags make it an outstanding performer. Mitsubishi Pajero gives a claimed mileage of 13.5 kmpl and 11.5 kmpl on highways and in city respectively. The SUVs trade punches or push the opponent into the corner to land blows time and again. It is a huge improvement as it looks fantastic, has a powerful motor, handles a lot better and boasts serious equipment levels. It is hard to fault with, and is extremely convincing as a buy. Mitsubishi adds an automatic 4x2 variant to the capable Pajero Sport line up but hikes prices of the 4x4 variant marginally. Though, we would suggest you to check for Hyundai Tucson, VW Tiguan or Fortuner in this price range as these are more exciting products.

There is no doubt the Pajero Sport is a quality SUV. It has been engineered to perform in every aspect and it has a legendary brand name associated with it that other brands can only vie for. Powering this behemoth is a refined 2477cc common-rail direct injection DOHC diesel mill that generates 178PS @4000rpm and makes a solid 400Nm of torque between 2000 and 2500rpm. When it comes to driving the Pajero around town, the experience is best described as a mixed bag of emotions. The vehicle feels well planted on the road and doesn’t lose its cool around bends, but the ride quality is a little on the stiffer side. No doubt, the large 265/65R17 tyres soak up most undulations, but the Pajero is bound to be a little rough. Secondly, the gearbox is a tad notchy and the steering, which is great to grip, is rather heavy in slow-moving traffic or while undertaking parking maneuvers. The handling of the car differs from one person to another so one word of advice would be, take a test drive to get the complete glimpse regarding the ease and comfort offered by the car.
