Ignore the other dealers. Ford freestyle engine very refined. There is no other vehicle that is as good as this in the same budget. Don't worry about the number of cylinders. If you have more budget, you can consider Hyundai venue. Else ford freestyle is an excellent choice, just go for it. Buy only the petrol version.

  • Q. Is the Freestyle petrol going to come out with BS6 engine? Is it better to buy Ecosport BS6. When is it going to be launched?

For now, both Ford EcoSport and Freestyle are available with a BSIV-compliant petrol engine and both are good options if you are looking for a good petrol car. Freestyle gets a 1.2-litre petrol engine that makes 96PS of power mated to a 5-speed manual transmission while the EcoSport can be had with a 1.5-litre petrol unit rated at 123PS coupled either to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. EcoSport is a compact SUV, whereas, the Ford called its Freestyle a CUV so it will also depend on the preference of the segment. The BSVI engines are most likely to be launched by the time new norms kick in. In order to know which car would be a more suitable companion, we'd recommend taking a test drive. • Q. How is diesel engine of Freestyle and what is the mileage of Freestyle diesel?
    Naikoti
    Naikoti | 6 months ago

Ford freestyle is good vehicle, cost effective and less maintenance, good mileage. I have diesel version completed 90000kms and I didn't get any trouble. I changed tyres at 84000kms, city milage is around 18 and highway milage is 23kmpl. If u drive in a better way you will get above 28kmpl, if you maintain properly then service cost will be 4500 to 5000rs for every 10000kms.

  • Q. I drive around 2000 kms a month. Currently driving Hyundai i20 petrol, drove 1.50 lacs. I am planning a new car, budget around 8-10 lakhs. What should be best buy between Ford Freestyle, Ford Aspire blu or should I look some other car. Also confused between petrol / diesel but as diesel rates are almost as petrol, should I go for petrol itself ? Moreover, there may be some regulatory issues for diesel engines in future as BS VI norms etc. Please suggest what should be a best buy car in budget 8-10 lakh. (But not a Maruti car)

Apart from Maruti, no other brand has decided to discontinue the diesel engines, rather the brand's would be updating the diesel engines as per the BSVI norms so, you would not be facing any such issues opting for the diesel engine. Moreover, as per your monthly running, we'd recommend opting for the diesel engine as the running cost is cheaper as compared to the petrol ones. As for the choice between Ford Freestyle and Aspire Blu, if you want a car with additional safety features and want to tackle comparatively bad roads then you can opt for the Ford Freestyle. otherwise, the Aspire Blu offers a host of features and is comfortable as well. Furthermore, we'd recommend taking a test drive of the vehicle for a better insight into the performance and comfort of the car. Follow the link for New Car Showrooms

  • Q. Despite of being a good car in this price range and with the powerful Fiat engine, why is it not a commonly selling car in India? I cant find any Freestyles on road as common as WRV or Ecosport? Does it have any other drawbacks?

Good question. In Europe and USA....you will find very few Suzuki cars. Suzuki mania is only in India because most Indian customers are stingy and kitna deti hai types. The only drawback of Freestyle is that it is being sold in India, where Maruti Suzuki has been making a monkey out of customers with paper thin bodies and mileage. It is worth taking a look at the fate of Maruti Suzuki cars that meet accidents. Nissan is another giant brand that makes superb cars and sells a huge amount of vehicles in Europe and the USA. How many Nissan vehicles do we see in India? We should never judge a vehicle by the numbers they sell in a low quality and low safety market like India where many are only fit to drive autorickshaws. Look at the accidents on Indian roads - we have the highest accident rate in the world.

  • Q. Hi Team,I have test driven the petrol and the diesel engines of the freestyle. I found the petrol to be more fun as the clutch on the diesel was on the harder side, which makes it uncomfortable for city drives. The only thing that i did not like about the petrol variant was its gear nob. It was not as smooth as it is in an i20. I am planning to buy the petrol variant. My question is - did you heard of any long term issues with the 3 cylinder engine. And, should I wait until next month for any offers or buy it this month?

As of now, we have not heard about any issue with the running 3 cylinder engine in Ford Freestyle. Moreover please take the test ride of the car in order to judge your driving skills and comfort offered by the car. Talking about the offers if you are getting any good deal than you may lock the deal.
