  • Q. Suggest me which one is better petrol or diesel vehicle - EcoSport?

The success of the Ford EcoSport can be attributed to its packaging. It offers great engines, good interiors with an appealing design and that SUV like stance. If you are looking for better power and traveling less than 50-60km a day, opt for a petrol car instead of a diesel. With the extra Rs 1-1.50 lakh spent on a diesel purchase, you can actually drive a similar petrol car for as many as two years! So, do your math carefully. A diesel usually makes sense if you are driving above 60/70km a day.

1.5 L Tdci Diesel engine is Gold in terms of power, drivability, mileage. It is one of the best engine in the segment. It is so good that it feels faster than the other cars which produce more power from there 1.5 (Nexon).Petrol of the ecosport is brilliant too.The new 1.5 Dragon series engine make 121hp.It is a powerful engine and has excellent refinement. It comes with both manual and automatic gearbox. The mileage though is not it's strongest point. So it depends upon your running and usage

Depends on how much you drive . If you are planning to drive 1000 km per month for at least 3 to 4 years , go for diesel . Otherwise petrol , refined , luxurious , vibration less fun drive

  • Q. Which is best for performance EcoSport or WRV (petrol version)?
    Gururaj
    Gururaj | 9 months ago

MIleage - WRV I will divide comfort in several aspects: 1. Seating comfort 1st row - Ecosport (better back and cushion support and feel than Honda seats) 2. Seating comfort 2nd row - WRV (Very well suited for long drives for 3 persons. Bucket seats are better positioned compared to Ecosports) 3. Headroom, legroom and width - WRV (Honda has put in a lot of thought and provided us with an awesome usage space) 4. Luggage space - WRV. 5 . Seating position - Ecosports (A little edge there as seat position of ecosports driver seat is approx 50 mm higher than WRV) 6. Sunroof - WRV 7. Body roll - Ecosport Mileage - both are equally good in petrol variants; for diesel - definitely WRV. Resale price - ECO sport will fetch a bit more than WRV though not drastic difference. Value for money - IMO both are equally good but still if your family is of 5 persons and prefer a top end petrol car, WRV should be the choice. Other wise Ecosport should suit you just as fine.

Both the cars are good to buy and stands good on their ground. On one hand, WR-V borrows quite a lot from the Jazz but manages to stand tall on its own toes. It’s got space, it’s efficient and has the right amount of feel-good features. Then there’s Honda’s reputation for reliability. Also, it’s your only option if you want a cross-hatch with a sunroof. So, WRV is for you. On the other hand, EcoSport has got its mojo back. It’s among the only ones in its class that actually looks like a scaled down SUV and not a blown-up hatchback. If you need a small SUV that has some swag, you know where to head.

On safety front, Ford EcoSport gets dual front airbags, rear parking sensors and ABS with EBD as standard across all variants. However, features like side and curtain airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors, electronic stability control, traction control, emergency brake assist and hill launch assist are only offered in the top-spec variant.

Of course petrol, diesel variant with time will produce sounds that you won’t want to hear. Petrol will give 15 km/l .

  • Q. I'm looking for a petrol version of Ford Ecosport preferably among top 2 variants. My preferences are mileage, service cost, comfort and features in same order. My daily drive is 50-55 km and I drive from outskirts to city and back. Please advice me which variant to go for. I considered diesel but in long run it won't be beneficial for me.

@ Abhishek | Go for diesel since you would be travelling a lot daily. Petrol average is about 13 to 15 KMPL..

What about the service cost and repair cost & timeline? I own Micra Active and it's manufactured in Chennai; same as Ford EcoSport. They take more than a week to repair/replace even small damage/part.

I have been using Ecosport petrol for a while and the maintenance cost is very minimal... I Don't own a diesel Varient so no idea about it's maintenance cost. Nissan has worst service TA time...

Has to be very good going by the numbers sold even after 7 years of its launch and arrival of a host of competitors . In Aug 19 Ecosport outsold nexon and xuv 300 . But do drive petrol also before buying .

@ Abhishek | Top performance. Very good torque and power. 1500 CC engine eats petrol a bit more so mileage is somewhere in between 13 - 15 KMPL.

We mustn't complain becoz Alto which is half the CC or 800 doesn't give more than 21 approx so. We ecosport petrol owners should be happy that we are getting 15 with double the power . Have to keep in mind that brakes should not be used too frequently for better fuel efficiency .
