I'm using liva since 2012 and one thing I must share is that I drive it on my reflexes only. If you drive in proper recommended way, 300-400 km driving is just a fun. I have done it so many times without getting tired. It never shivers even at 120-140 kmph (on express highways). In city goes smooth in crowd @5-10 kmph. The shape in terms of driving comfort is so good that I do never care if the front part is passed in a narrow situation, the rear portion passes away as a rule. There is no unnecessary elevation to touch other vehicles on road. AC vents position is best and optimally designed. The looks and shape may be not be as good as i20 or Baleno. The interiors and light body may not be very exciting in comparison to others. But driving comfort is cheerful. I have Baleno too since last 3 years but still feel addicted to liva. The low maintenance cost is only around 3000 per year for first 5 years and slightly higher after that is an additional tension-free experience. On other cars it becomes a big headache, I got three different rates on same authorised workshop of maruti when I sent my driver for same routine service. He was smart enough to save further after negotiation when the work was completed. Still it was 1.5 times higher than what we still have pay to Toyota.

  • Q. I have shortlist two cars. Tiago Diesel XZ and Etios Liva VX. Safety and Low maintenance are my preferences. Since Etios Liva is 9 years old, Does it still make sense t buy Liva?

First of all liva and cross will be stopped by toyota in next 2/3 years. But their parts will be made available till at least 15 years from the production end date i.e. safely you can say 17 to 18 years from today. Tiago is one of most feature rich and safe car by Tata (only ford and VW built quality can come near to Tiago and not even Liva but Liva has many advantages like better chasis which actually matter most in safety and better EBD etc.). Except long term durability of car and its part I see not even a single issue in Tiago car. Now talking about Liva - if you are planning for liva in diesel then look no further and select liva because it will easily last for more thana decade and for more than 2 lakhs kms easily without spending much on maintenance - quality and realiability are key USBs of Toyota cars. Tiago has more weight than Liva but still tiago will give more milleage and more road grip due to heavy body. Liva's dyanmics and superb engine quality is unmatched even by Honda cars upto some extent (forget abt maruti and hyundai in term of engine classicness and reliability and performance). Ask for more discount on Liva and go for extended waranty - toyota's extended warantee is hassle free if you compare with any other brand. Happy buying and drive safe.

If you are looking for more features such as Rear Wash Wiper, Music System, AM/FM Radio, USB Auxiliary Input, 4 Speakers(Rear and front), and Turn indicators on ORVM etc. You can go for the V variant as it has been loaded with more features otherwise if you are looking for just a car with very basic features you can go for the G variant.Click here for the comparison: https://www.zigwheels.com/compare-cars/toyota-etios-liva-g-vs-toyota-etios-liva-v

  • Q. Confused between between Ford Figo diesel and Toyata Etios Liva diesel ? Which is best for long term use and mileage?
    Zigwheels
    Zigwheels | 2 weeks ago

Ford Figo is available with a 1.5-litre diesel engine that makes 100PS of maximum power coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission, whereas, Toyota Etios Liva gets a 1.4-litre diesel unit that makes 68PS of maximum power mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as well. So if you are looking for a powerful yet frugal car, then we'd recommend opting for the Ford Figo as the punchy diesel engine will surely put a smile on your face. Moreover, we'd recommend taking a test drive of the car for a better insight into the performance, comfort and compatibility. Follow the link for dealership details - Ford Car Showrooms
