As you are traveling less than 50-60km a day, opt for a petrol car instead of a diesel. With the extra Rs 1-1.50 lakh spent on a diesel purchase, you can actually drive a similar petrol car for as many as two years! There are ample of options are availabe i.e. Maruti Swift AMT ZXI Plus (Petrol), Maruti Baleno 1.2 CVT Zeta (Petrol), Maruti Swift Dzire AMT ZXI (Petrol), Honda Amaze S CVT Petrol (Petrol), Tata Nexon 1.2 Revotron XMA (Petrol) etc. Click on the given link to explore all options: https://bit.ly/2vwloDz Choosing a car may also depend on brand preference and specific feature requirement etc. Please drop down your requirements so that we can assist you further.

Liva as a product that will stop in next 2 years but its parts will be easily supported till next 15 years (look at qualities which stopped 15 years back). CVT was never a plan by Toyota in Liva, only in sedans Toyota offers AMT and CVT

Etios liva V dual special edition tone after negotiations around 6.50 lakhs will be best deal from a very long term perspective. If you extent a little bit then around 7 lakhs i20 magna 2018 after discount will be best package. If you want to save money then Tiago (do not underestimate Tiago since its body, build and pickup all are great in this segment but maintenance is a concern in long run). Toyota etios liva do not have fancy features but definately a very good one to own and drive and maintain. Pls make sure to negotiate much more like I did get 42k discount on liva v Dual tone special edition (alloy wheels). Toyota after sales experience is best amongst all other brands. Ask any driver abt toyota and its maintenance. Congrats and drive safely.

  • Q. Which version better Diesel or Petrol - Etios Liva?
    Sumit
    Sumit | 1 year ago

Diesel is a performer whereas petrol is basic and especially good for city drive. Torque and power in petrol is less. Diesel cars cost at least 1 lakhs rs more than petrol cars plus servicing is costly (except toyota cars which treats petrol and diesel cars as same when it comes to servicing). Actual benefit of diesel car is realized after 5 years typically when one completes 75000 kms n more because there on one starts making profit because mileage is more and fuel cost is comparatively lower and by that that extra 1 lakhs rs is covered because fuel you spend covers rs 1 lakhs (after 75k kms). Petrol car insurance is at lower side as well (say 1.5k to 2k per annum lower at least for first 5 years i.e. almost 8k to 10k saving on insurance. So if you target of total kms in first 7 to 8 years is not more that 1 lakhs then go for petrol else think of a diesel car.
