Q. Verna 1.6 EX diesel or 1.6 SX petrol for 50:50 city:highway use?

We suggest if you specically choose Ex variant then .1.6 Ex diesel or 1.4 ltr petrol would be suitable . This matches your rationale decision . In Diesel in long drives the more you drive diesel gives you better mileage . If you are choosing a mid variant like Ex we suggest diesel would be better for you . Infact we suggest 1.4ltr petrol(100HP) and as 1.6ltr Diese(128HP) as considering economy . The 1.6 ltr would be too large engine for city rides 123 HP power in city goes a big drain in fuel efficiency. In petrol so 1.4 ltr petrol is best . I use it both for city and highway. I get 16KMPL in Bangalore city and 20kmpl on highways will speeds upto 150KM/hr. Mine is Diesel 1.6 SX 2012 model. Go for the Diesel and the power is immense.

If your monthly running is more then 1500 km go for diesel verna otherwise honda city petrol
