Q. I know that's a change of segment but will it be a better buy than ciaz in 11-12 lakh range? That depends on choice after all but in practicality, which one does stand better in long run - S-Cross?

My humble recommendation to you is go for ciaz petrol if you are looking at it in long term buying. that too with the new 1.5 petrol motor with additional hybrid. i can reason out why it might be a long term suggestion1. petrol is less expensive to maintain2. BS6 norms are set to kick in which will have serious implications as far as diesel vehicles are concerned.3. Hybrid is the way to go. though both cars are going to give you hybrid, petrol hybrid is available only in ciaz for now. (expecting scross petrol soon) 4. must say the scross has serious road presence with its alpha variant led drls. But ciaz is always about class. 5. petrol is going to get cheaper than diesel soon. accept the fact that you have to pay for the energy than the volume. several countries have diesel prices higher than petrol. so diesel heads, brace yourselves for a rough road ahead.6. best in class mileage in petrol.so go for ciaz petrol. it's my recommendation.then it is your perspective about how you see it since both are different segments all together.on a lighter note: i am a big fan of Scross for its comfort and ground clearance.all the bestsafe drivinghappy driving

It totally depends on your needs. Although both have a different body type the power and performance remain the same. I feel S-cross has better styling and offers much classier looks and better features and better ground clearance. On the other hand, Ciaz is better in terms of Boot space and mileage and Diesel top variant is a little cheaper compared to S-cross. The choice is yours :).
