If monthly run under 2k km, then petrol is best... For Variant, always avoid to top notch model, instead go 1 step down

For city purposes prefer diesel, for touring concerns..go for diesel nd your budget will matter while selecting models

If you would drive more than 1500 Km/ month get City Diesel. Else Petrol.
