  • Q. Engine check lights are on, in my Kia Seltos diesel, after 1350 km, probably due to BS4 diesel, even though I refuel it from Reliance outlet. So what should I do, ignore it, go for ECM update, or wait & watch?

    If engine check lights keeps on blinking, it is a very serious issue, stop the car on the spot & call the kia for roadside assistance, else if you drive serious, expensive engine damage can occur.Now the above case is minor & have been reported by several owners & is due to BS4 diesel used in BS6 engines. Kia has tested seltos on Indian roads for over 20 lakh kilometers & seltos is Badass by performance & durability. A work horse indeed.The BS6diesel engine has been tested on BS4 fuel & is designed to run a lakh kilometers, but not more, by then BS6 diesel should be available. Nevertheless, all owners of Kia seltos diesel, who face the issue of continuous engine check lights on, episode should, take it to kia service & get a free engine scan to diagnose the problem. Most probably it would be due to BS4 diesel & in that case nothing to worry. You can also get a software update on ECM. If the DPF (Diesel particulate filter) is clogged, it can be replaced for â‚ą6000 or do it for free during warranty period. It pays to take extended warranty..

    Sir I have SELTOS HTE DIESEL. I've strange vibrating noise in the dashboard at immediate throttle at 4,5,6 gears.Seems to be DPF clogging.(back pressure and exhaust gas temperatures increase within the turbine housing.)How to solve this. I'd like to know DPF location in seltos and price.Is it advisable to clean or replace.

    If it is due to DPF filter clogging, you can run your seltos diesel on 3rd gear above 3000 rpm for 30 mins and light should be gone.

    Performance is fine, Road grip is good, But failure in fuel efficiency bumper to bumper mileage in petrol is 3 - 5 kmpl and in city 7 - 9 kmpl.This is disgusting.

    Hi, I have purchased seltos htk imt diesel, It was delivered 2 weeks back.Existing imt users, Anyone faced issues with creep/crawl/hill start assist functionality in first gear in imt gearbox, When i am stuck at traffic signals, And roads has small slopes like 5 degrees or 10 degrees, Then in first gear, The crawl/hill start assist functionality does not work as expected, My car rolls backwards slightly and i have to manually press accelerator asap to avoid further rollback.The car does not hold for 3 seconds at all, It rolls backwards as soo as i release the break.Same thing happens for reverse gear, If there is 5-10 degrees slope, Car moves forward, And i have to press accelerator asap to avoid movement ahead.Fyi, Hill assist feature working fine on steep slopes in hilly roads, Mall ramps.The car holds for 2-3 seconds and enough time to move ahead without rollback.
