  • Q. As I know swift desire gives mileage of 13 km / Lt in city where as co. Claims 22km/ Lt why it is so?

    See the company gives the ARAI mileage figure. ARAI stands for Automotive Research Association of India. The exact parameters aren't disclose to the public, but as far as I know they test the vehicle in a simulator where the real road conditions are presented. One needs to accelerate, change gears, brake and stop in a simulated road conditions. There is a certain distance to cover in that simulator. The avg consumption of fuel will be the mileage. For Dzire it was 22 kmpl. However, in the real the performance of the vehicle depends upon the driver as well as we tend to drive cars with A/C on. Those factors contribute a lot in the mileage figure returned by the vehicle.

    City driving is always stop and go. You are forced to drive in 3rd or 4th gear most of the time. Hence the low mileage. When you travel in a highway at a constant speed in 5th gear, you will get 23 kmpl.

    Even petrol dzire will give 16/KMPL in city

    In fact truly describing about this vehicle is pleasure.This an mid sedan and brought top end fully loaded for my wife it's been around 3 years and since we purchased the car till date the performance, mileage Pickup is as such same and built quality color shocks been same to date too.Also with cruise ride the vehicle rides very smooth like an butter trust me it's an best affordable car for anyone in this segment and you will definitely love the ride.Overall it's an value and excellent car.Go for it.

    The performance of amt was very good initially. However following issues are there in dzire 1) power steering did not work, Twice it was changed within warranty. Not fully satisfied.2) the great changing pattern changed suddenly, It doesn’t change at the correct append, Like how it was in the beginning3) the low battery indicator did not work, When the battery went dry. All electricals stopped suddenly while driving.
