Under the hood, the S90 draws the power from a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine putting out 190 bhp along with 400 Nm, coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission which sends the drive to the front Wheels of the car. In the Indian market, Volvo S90 is up against the likes of BMW 5 series, Mercedes E class, Audi A6, and Jaguar XF among others.

Must Read Questions & Answers Before Buying V40

Q. Which one should I buy the Volvo V40 or the Mercedes Benz A class?
  • Talking about the Volvo V40 hatchback is a well-built car that comes equipped to the gills, is priced well and looks smashing from all angles. The gruff engine note and the slightly lethargic gearbox are mild dampeners in what is otherwise a well-rounded package. It’s a good value for money to buy the V40. As far as efficiency goes, the V40 is rated at 16.81kmpl which is no surprise, considering its output and weight. Sure the V40 will not be the only car in your high profile garage but as the luxury hatchback to potter around town, it does its job very well. On the other hand, the new A-Class boasts of the new Mercedes-Benz design theory with a sporty overtone while being a fantastically well-rounded vehicle. The Mercedes-Benz A-Class in India is the German luxury car manufacturer’s cheapest offering and targets the customers who want to move into the luxury car segment but do not want a conventional sedan and would prefer a hatchback instead. Moreover, do take the test drive for both the cars to pick the best as per your needs and requirements.
  • Mercedes Benz A class
Q. Hi, I am planning to buy volvo v40 cross country diesel. I am at coimbatore. Just want to regarding the reliability with the brand as such and what about the cost and availability of spares, service cost and overall cost of ownership. Please help me in this regard so that I can decide if I should go ahead with this brand or stick to Audi q3 or Merc gla.
  • Most owners report a good experience and Volvo's service cost is slightly lower than the competition's. Volvo recently opened a new spare parts warehouse as well, so part availability shouldn't be an issue. If you have your heart set on the V40 CC, go for it.
  • Never think for volvo

The Volvo V40 hatchback is gorgeous no doubt but is there more to it than meets the eye and can it hold its own against competition like the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, BMW 1 Series and Mini Cooper 5 Door
