Must Read Questions & Answers Before Buying Yaris
- If you can afford it, go for the G variant.
- Not available. Why do you want to buy a Diesel in 2019 when Maruti is planning to scrap some of its Diesel models from next year?
- Toyota Yaris feels slightly underpowered and the pick up is lethargic. If you're looking for a powerful drive, then Verna is the best choice.
- I feel the lowest variants are very good. I drive the J Manual which cost me 10.3 lakhs. Though you get rear disc brakes with the V variant and traction control / electronic stability control with the VX variant which is 14.5 - 16 lakhs which is too expensive. Ford offers the same in their highest priced Figo and Freestyle which are 8 lakhs. You can always ask a trusted mechanic to fit rear disc brakes for you later. The touch screens etc. that you get are basically going to be useless in a couple of years, as there is no guarantee of any car company keeping up the updates. You can just stick your phone on the dash and use that. The J version comes with a music player with bluetooth and aux input and a CD player. The G version comes with a roof mounted rear fan vent and noise cancelling window glasses and fog lights which are useful, but I didn't see the point in paying an extra 1.5 lakhs for them. I wanted to get fog lights installed but Toyota India is out of fog lights, I think they cost Rs. 4-5000 . Oh and the J variant gets projector headlights which are pretty good. So I think you can get the J or G variant and get the accessories you need fitted.
- G variant gives you almost all the needful features that are *company-fitted*. Company fitted features have unmatchable performance, fit and finish.
- I drive a Manual, so Manual for me. Automatics are only good for bumper to bumper to bumper traffic (which is a big consideration) and make driving easier to learn. Since the Yaris is a Toyota, its engine is detuned for mileage and longevity and sacrifices speed. To overcome this, you have to have a Manual, as you can then drop a gear to get torque to speed up. Having said that, it is astonishingly quick after 50 kmh even in 5th gear, you can get to 100 kmh in no time if you are not careful. The Manual is also very forgiving esp. if you are used to driving Marutis like Swift etc., since it allows you to drop to 10 kmh even in 4th gear without shuddering. Basically you can potter around in the city all day long in 4th and 5th gears and use the 3rd gear to get that extra speed when needed.
- Sir give me some discounts sir plz I am poor sir
- Mere hisaab se baleno hi best option hai

So the ground clearance is really commendable and even the worst of the roads can be conquered without much problems but it has it’s drawback in the form of body roll and movement on the highways at the speeds over 120kmph.Comfort is good in the city though.Potholes creep inside the cabin at really slow speeds but are not felt at all in moderate speed, I.E.Above 40kmph.Fancy features not available but not of much concern.Seats fold in 60:40 split which is exceptional.Ac performance exceptional, The rear vents are not even needed most of the times.Rear ac vents are really strong too.The performance of the car is smooth but not exciting, Which is evident in the engine and suspension tuning. For quick overtakes on highway you do need to downshift and rev over 3000rpm.The car performs relaxed with more than enough grunt in the city speeds. The mileage in city under harsh driving is 9-10kmpl while simple driving will result in 12-15kmpl whereas on highways speed racers would get around 13-15kmpl with ac on while simple drivers would get easy 16-20kmpl.For instance with ac off on highway i have got 22kmpl too.The tank to tank mileage i got is 15.5 with around 70% hardcore city driving.Gearbox is smooth but sometimes it wont get into 1st or reverse when the car stars and you have to re engage the clutch to do so.I have a manual btw.Speakers in the car are decent too.The cabin feels a bit cooler than other cars in summers and is also really quieter than any other car in it’s segment. The suspension also does not make much noise. The car is really easy to drive though. You’ll really appreciate the clutch when you experience it.

As we all know Toyota is always known for its Quality, Durability and Reliability.. Maintenance of this car is never a concern.. only thing I didn't like about this car is it lacks a hell lot of features considering the ₹14 lakhs price bracket. Rubber band effect it quite evident and it's a bit annoying while overtaking lacks confidence.. apart from these issues it's super comfortable and spacious a sedan with 60:40 foldable slit seats and 476 L trunk space. overall it's a good family car.. not a car meant for enthusiasts like us.

Yaris is a family car, if you are giving priority to safety and comfort. As my last 8 months experience, safety and comfort is the positive things in Yaris. But this is an over priced car (For V-CVT variant, should pay about 15 Lakhs) and also it does not have any good features (Eg - Very Bad Infotainment System), So don"t go for a higher variant of this car, instead buy a lower variant and add additional features whatever you need,Since this car have 7 Airbag and ABS included in all its variants. Regarding the mileage for Normal driving you will get 12 to 13 and in Traffic, it should be about 9 to 10.

My experience in this car is very good specially the riding comfort, suspension, turning radius is excellent. Look wise I like it than the other cars in same range. Regarding mileage with 1.5 L Gasoline engine I would say its performance is very good. I am getting between 13 to 14 in city drive. Overall I like it very much.

Yaris is great all round car but over pricing just killed it. Decent design inspired from Lexus at the front and Corolla at the back . Tyre size could have been 16 inch for v or vx variants ( they had given 185/60R15 for all variants , which is the default size of B segment ) . It looks like , they took out Etios engine, add more power , add more air bags and renamed with Yaris with astronomical pricing. Interior space is decent . Ride and handling is also nice . Overall , except for J variants , other variants are simply over priced
