Triber Car Pros and Cons

  • Triber Advantages

Spacious second row, removable third row seats, big 625-litre boot(without 3rd row), comfortable ride quality. New safety features and BSVI compliant engine at no extra cost.

  • Triber Disadvantages

    Highway performance, lack of features.

  • Expert's Conclusion

Renault’s Triber packs in solid value, offering a lot of car for not much money. It could do with some more features, and a stronger engine for roadtrips but at least we now have an AMT for easier city commuting.

Renault Triber Expert Review

The Renault Triber is quite a unique offering. While it is similar in size to hatchbacks like the Maruti Suzuki WagonR, it is a 3-row vehicle like the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, capable of seating up to 7 passengers. For the same price as a Renault Triber, you could also buy a Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Maruti Suzuki Fronx or Tata Punch.

The Triber’s core value add is that it offers seating for 7 people whereas its price alternatives are 5-seaters only. However, the Triber is not a direct competitor to the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga as it is a smaller vehicle and won’t be as comfortable at seating more than 5 passengers. The Triber is offered only with a petrol engine paired with a manual transmission or automated manual transmission, driving only the front wheels. The Renault Triber also has a 4-star crash safety rating from Global NCAP.

Looks

The Renault Triber's design is straightforward but unique. It strikes a balance between the sleek lines of a modern hatchback and the practicality of a family vehicle. When you look at it, you will notice the shiny chrome-accented front grille, stylish headlamps, and a well-shaped bonnet. The chrome accents on the front grille add a touch of sophistication, giving the Triber a more upmarket look.

From the side profile, the Triber looks a little bit like an MPV but Renault has delivered an intelligent design as it still looks well proportioned.

The roof rails, body cladding, and side mirrors with integrated turn signals add a sporty touch to the overall design. The 182mm ground clearance is good for most Indian roads, and 15-inch wheels complete the look.

Interior

The Renault Triber's interior design is its strong point. Step inside, and you'll find a surprisingly spacious cabin for a car of its size. The flexible seating options are a highlight, allowing different configurations to meet various passenger and cargo needs.

The Triber can seat seven people in a 2+3+2 arrangement, making it a suitable option for larger families or those who often travel with a group. The third-row seats can be used by adults but work better for shorter trips. It is, however, ideally suited for kids. Alternatively, you can remove the 3rd row seats completely and use the space for luggage. Thankfully, Renault offers a one-touch tumble forward 2nd row seat (co-driver’s side only), so it’s easy to get into the last row.

The second-row seats offer decent space for adults under 6ft in height, though underthigh support could’ve been better. Overall, the cabin is roomy, and the large windows allow plenty of natural light inside, creating an open and pleasant atmosphere.

The materials used in the cabin are decent, given the car's price range, although they may not feel as soft to the touch as those offered in only slightly more expensive cars. The hard plastics in the interior are not plush but are sturdy and well put together.

Technology

The tech package of the Triber covers the basics with some noteworthy highlights. The touchscreen infotainment system, available in higher models, offers features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, making it modern and convenient. The dashboard layout is user-friendly, and the controls are easy to use.

Safety

The Renault Triber does reasonably well when it comes to safety. It comes with several safety features, especially in higher trim levels. The standard safety features include dual front airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution), rear parking sensors, and a high-speed warning alert.

Some advanced safety features, such as electronic stability control, hill start assist, and tyre-pressure monitoring also come as standard. Side airbags, however, are reserved for the top, RxZ variant. Global NCAP has crash tested the Renault Triber and gave it 4/5 stars for adult occupant safety and 3/5 stars for child occupant safety.

Drive

The Renault Triber is powered by a 1-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that produces 72PS and 96Nm of torque. While this engine is relatively small, it's sufficient for city driving and light highway use. The Triber's engine is efficient and provides good fuel economy, making it a budget-friendly option for those who are concerned about running costs.

In city driving, the Triber's engine is responsive and provides a smooth, gradual increase in power. It's easy to navigate through traffic, thanks to the light steering, and the compact size makes parking a breeze. The 5-speed manual transmission is smooth and precise, while the 5-speed automatic (AMT) version offers convenience for those who prefer automatic transmissions. The AMT, however, is evidently a cost-centric solution to offering the convenience of an automatic. It’s a little slow to respond and you can feel the gear changes.

On the highway, the Triber handles moderate speeds comfortably, but it might struggle with overtaking maneuvers, especially when fully loaded with passengers. It's important to note that this car is primarily designed for city and suburban use. As is the case with most Renault cars, the suspension setup is well-tuned for Indian roads, providing a comfortable and compliant ride.

Verdict

The Renault Triber delivers great value for money. This car offers a lot for the price, making it a compelling choice for budget-conscious families and individuals. The combination of a spacious cabin, flexible seating, and an affordable price tag makes it an excellent option for those who need a versatile vehicle without overspending. With the Triber, Renault has successfully found a balance between affordability and practicality without sacrificing style and features.

Sum up to my rides with the Renault Triber, I can proudly give my consent that this vehicle is multi-tasked, its economical and the quality of design is the best for its class of vehicles, the interior which is kitted with modern gadgets was packed well, as well as the safety aspect was very good and adequate. By way of utilization, we have witnessed that it is a good option for this style of driving whether you are in for the gas mileage and a great balance of both performance and economy.

  • Good price and easy to drive

Renault Triber is my first car and i got the mid varient that gives nice feature list and the engine of this MUV is very powerful. This car is very easy to use in the city and the price of this MUV is very good and is a good value of rmoney car for me but the highway performance is not as good. The ride quality with this car is effortless and is a very practical car with very easy to drive but the plastic quality of cabin is not good.

  • Flexible Seating, Compact Design, Family Car

The Renault Triber is the nice blood car for city trips because of its adaptable commands, fragile footmark, and adaptable looks. I value my Triber because it has wide innards and innovational modular seating elections that allow me arrange the cabin to suit my conditions. The Triber provides a comfortable and pleasurable ride for both short and long travel thanks to its energetic best experience and energy-effective machine. The car that Renault has made for my blood is excellent it not only meets our demands, but it also makes our standard life more accessible and adjustable. My favorite car is the Triber because of its cost, comfort, and mileage.

  • Brillant ride and great value

When first i rode this seven seater MUV i feel that the ride quality of this MUV is very effortless and in this price this car is an excellent value for money. It is a good value car that is very nice to drive in the city and the spacing in this car is very good but the engine performance for the highway could be better. I have RXT model and is a nice car and is a well package car but the cabin quality is not good. The driving experience is very nice and come with good space.

  • affordable Family Car

This is my current favourite model. It gives decent fuel efficiency, especially for city driving. Owners report around 15 kmpl in the city and 17-18 kmpl on highways. Seats are comfortable for long journeys. Very affordable price tag, one of the cheapest 7-seater options in the market. It Handles bumps and uneven roads well, providing a smooth ride. Power & Pickup: Acceleration is slow, not ideal for highway cruising or sporty driving. Service network might not be as widespread as some other brands.

  • Versatility in Motion with Triber

The Renault Triber wows with its diversifiedness and convenience making it quite a stand out in the compact MPV segment. It comes equipped with an adjustable seating system that permit simple customization of space to accommodate up to seven passengers or offer generous cargo room as required. In addition, the Triber’s small size makes it easy to drive in urban areas while its zippy engine ensures a comfortable ride. However, others might probably think that when the car is accelerating particularly at top speed, the sound made by its engines may be slightly distracting. Further, this interior of this vehicle is well designed but some people may find its materials feeling like plastics are not so much refined when compared to those used by other competitors. Even though the Renault Triber might seem reasonably priced, roomy and flexible enough for either families or city riders on a budget; there are still other options available.

  • The Unassuming Hero of Urban Roads

The Renault Triber has been a delightful discovery for me it becomes a perfect fit for navigating the hustle of city life in India. What caught my attention was its unique offer of versatile seating accommodating up to seven passengers without compromising on comfort a rare finding in cars of this segment. Its ground clearance is suitable for most urban roads though cautious navigation is advised on rough terrains. The interior though modestly designed is practical and user friendly with enough features to ensure a comfortable drive. The digital instrument cluster and smart access card add a touch of modernity.

  • best 7 seater

Having driven the Renault Triber in Tamil Nadu and Mysore, I found its versatile seating arrangement and spacious cabin impressive, accommodating a family of seven comfortably. The compact MPV offers decent fuel efficiency, averaging 18 km/litre on the highway and 14 km/litre in the city. However, its performance feels lackluster, especially with a full load. The interior design is functional but lacks premium materials. Safety features like airbags provide reassurance, but the absence of all-wheel drive may deter some buyers. Overall, a practical choice for families seeking affordability and flexibility.

  • Practical and Featuristic

I've had the privilege of driving the Renault Triber, and it has exceeded my expectations, with its multifunctional and cheap nature, it is a pocket-friendly car and a budget savvy option to consider. Its economical engine works well on small roads and highways, entailing its nice, marketable exterior finishing and even roomier layout that has both taste and sense to it. Other than the Triber's wide variety of color choices, complex safety gadgets, and enough of or even additional room for people and their things, it would make an appealing package for certain car consumers.
