No, Renault offers the Duster with two engine options: a 106PS 1.5-litre naturally aspirated unit, mated to a 5-speed manual, and a 156PS 1.3-litre turbo-petrol motor paired to a 6-speed manual and CVT gearbox.
Since both cars are from different segments, selecting one would depend on certain factors such as your budget, preference of the segment, features required, etc. DCT is a dual-clutch it has two different clutches which operate two sets of gear ratios, one odd and the other even. When driving around, a computer pre-selects what it feels will be the next required gear using the second clutch, and thus, at the time of the gear shift, the difference between the two is negligible whereas CVT is the most different kind of transmission on this list as they don’t have actual gears. They instead work on a belt-driven system that is suspended off two pulleys. These pulleys can change their radii to mimic any kind of gear ratio, meaning they are capable of offering infinitely different gear ratios. A transmission control unit decides what gear ratios to use depending on your throttle input, speed, incline, and other factors. The Seltos is impressed us So much that all we could complain about was a lack of under-thigh support and the rather stiff ride quality. GTX Plus DCT is fun to drive and feature-loaded too. And more than anything its pricing makes it one of the hottest picks in the segment On the other hand, the Duster has a smooth engine, an easygoing gearbox, and epic ride quality on its side. The new 156PS turbo petrol makes this a very interesting proposition for the enthusiast. It's still a great looker with an updated interior along with a very robust mechanical package. Thanks for the reply...i know all the specifications...just wanted to know which one is of better value and a better car to drive, maintainence cost in the long run...fuel economy, peace of mind...etc...im getting both cars for 12.4 lakhs, on road price...seltos htk 115ps petrol and duster rxz 85ps diesel older version...test driven both and both r good...is duster rxz a steel noting that the price is 14.4L on road with around 2 lakhs discount...or is seltos htk a far better car with 115ps and petrol having lower maintenance...which car is more stable, more refined..better ride quality n handling..etc...it would be great to get a detailed response
110 ps taller 6 speed gearbox great on highways and in city too..85 ps is a good option with a less price.110 ps has turbo lag (mind that after second gear at low rpms)if there is no highway use prefer 85 ps
As per my personal experience 85 PS is best for city and highway. No turbo log no frequent gear shifting. Further Clutch plate, diesel filter and some other parts of 85 PS is cheap compared to 110 PS.
Definitely the 110PS variant is more powerful than the 85PS.Means it will have a better acceleration rate and a little more maximum speed.
Manual diesel makes sense 120 and 85 bhp6 gears in 110 version .If you need a petrol go for CVT which makes sense . Also above all your purpose for the car matters most.Diesel can take 100 kms .mixed traffic. Dropping your spouse or child to school within 20 kms to and fro petrol CVT will be the sole choices. Regarding maintenance both carry their substantistive risks!!!
The diesel engines of Duster were very reliable. But now they have stopped the production of Diesel versions.Only now available in petrol versions. But they are equally reliable.Hope this helps! Happy driving!
Diesel 85bhp will give you more reliability. Mileage in highway will save you some money on fuel expenses. But if it’s daily use diesel is better else go for petrol.
