I call the car Miss Swift, she is really quick at accelerating, and great to climb up hill sections, 'Ghats' as we call them in Maharashtra. Leaves all types of cars including imported ones behind when climbing up slopes. But on our highways its best not to drive at more than 120 kmph, because of sudden appearance of hazards like cattle, jaywalkers e.t.c. Although I have driven her at 150kmph, it does feel unsafe. Braking action is good up to 100kmph. She is a driver's car, would hate to sit behind and let someone else drive her. The family loves the spacious interiors and the ride comfort.

PROs: Reliable Engine, Good build, Style, Good Driveline (gearbox etc), Mechanical Ruggedness, Many Features* for the price, Off-roading capability (means you don’t need to bother pot-holes on roads and can take it right inside the farms), Good image of the brand & vehicle on road.CONs:Electricals & Electronics,Lesser reliable Electricals & Electronics dependent features- like Security licking system, power windows, battery operation & life, Rigid or less-flexible seating (for the price range), Paints go dull soon (my expereince with black).

I have an XUV500 W11 (O) variant. I'd heard from many people that this car is not good, it has monocoque does not have ladder chassis, is not for off road and what to know, but I have myself driven from Varanasi to Goa and Goa to Varanasi drove, about 4200 km and it was a very comfortable journey which also had six passengers. I also did offroading but never felt a lack of power. The only boot space is disappointing. The rest of the car has no shortage anywhere. This is my best buy SUV.

4.7
Good car, Safe on Roads, Low maintenance cost, Spares are Cheap, Interiors need to be revamped completely, New Model 2019 has better Exterior, but previous one was not bad, Dashboard needs some better color combination, Plastic quality of interiors needed to be improved, New colors should be introduced, Dual tone interiors should have options. I had driven it on Long routes, Trips from Nagpur to Goa, Hyderabad, Pune, Bidar, Satara, Jabalpur etc.
Must Read Questions & Answers Before Buying XUV500
- Is w10 a typo error? Because w10 was a nomenclature of the previous version, the newer one is W11 and in addition to all the features from the lower variants, the W11 variant gets brake energy regeneration system, six-way power adjustable driver seat, quilted leather upholstery, soft touch leather on dashboard and door trims, illuminated scuff plates, sporty aluminum pedals, chrome door sill cladding and chrome tailgate applique. As for safety, it additionally offers side and curtain airbags. The AWD variants get the large diamond cut alloy wheels.
- W10 is old facelift
- W10?
- XUV500 W9 has more features than scorpio S11 but scorpio is better in offroading than xuv500 but still xuv500 has hill decent control, Anti lock bracking system, sunroof, cornering lights, rear fog lamps, engine start stop button, automatic rain sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, etc
- I have XUV w9 model, if u are planning to between scorpio and xuv, XUV is best option with features, on road presentation, style. Scorpio is for local type neta....XUV is iconic....
- Kuch bhi bakwaaaaas..scorpio is the undisputed KING
- Sunroof on Cars...Today sunroof is attached to many top of the range models in India and advertisements specifically point this out as a premium feature...Well, my experience...I had used three makes of SUVs with sunroof - namely Landrover Freelander, GMC Envoy and Nissan Armada... in a country with climatic condition of extreme heat and dust, high humidity, cold and some rain... over a period of 12 years...I found sunroof utterly useless. Can't keep it open because of high wind noise above 40kmph approx... one of the cars the Freelander, due to lack of moment of the sunroof, the surrounding rail got rusted and water leaked in.The only slight advantage I found was that during extreme winter, keeping the shade of the sunroof open lets in sunlight which is enjoyable, but, the same is easily compensated by the heater in the car air conditioning...I wouldn't therefore never again waste money on sunroof...
- Just another perspective. most of the features of W9 can be installed in W7 by asking the service Center guys to install those as additional accessories or as spare parts and it would be well under 2 L difference. The only option that you are unlikely to get is the Sunroof. I feel that it's not important enough here in India. So it's your choice on how you want to spend your money. Looks can be made to match with that of W11 as well by buying parts from M2All.
- See if you are addicted to sunroof then you can buy W9 but if you are okay without it then W7 is great and there is no such issue with normal times but with allow wheels it looks great. If you don't want sunroof then buy W9 and there is no such difference in between these two models
