Must Read Questions & Answers Before Buying XUV500

Q. Life time of an engine or how many kilometers does XUV500 engine run under good maintenance?
  • Hi, No fixed Parameters to judge or to limit the life of any engine, it depends on a lot of factors. My XUV is touching 1.15L KMs, it is 5 years old but still performs like new, I used it for both, city driving and highways, it has never let me down so far. I have done non-stop solo trips in extremely rainy conditions, in extreme summers, and in extreme wintery condition as well, all such trips I'm talking are between 800 to 1200 KMs. Never a problem, ever! If you'll respect it, it will respect you back, if you'll abuse it, well, it will still reciprocate! With my engine, I'm sure I'm not gonna have any major issues in the engine before 5L KMs. Regards!
  • Well, I had bought xuv 500 in sep 2013, and have driven it for 70,000 KM's. But mine was a bad experience. The car's body is badly corroded in multiple places and rain water is leaking through the roof!!. Despite of taking good care of the car over these 6 years , the condition is badly deteriorated. This is for sure that Mahindra uses cheap quality door making their cars and any investment ( I had paid 18 lacs ,on road price then) made would go down the drain. Would never buy a Mahindra car ever again!!
  • Hello sir in nagpur company authorized service center is very worst they don't do good servicing and repairing work at all we have to depend upon the local automobiles only and they do better than the mahindra workshops

Q. Which one is better xuv 500 or innova crysta?
  • As a car, the Crysta is way better in terms of drive quality, power, space and finishing. But it comes at a almost 3-5 lac dearer price tag. Crysta will also get you better second hand price post 3-5 years of ownership.... BUT.... nothing like the road presence of an XUV500. I have been following the car since its launch in 2012 but only now I feel like Mahindra got its drive quality right. XUV500 is super loaded in terms of features and cost a whole 3-5 lacs less at comparable models.. how I decided between the two was... when i get off the vehicle and hand the key to the valet guy.. the valet should love taking care of my beautiful car.. and you can make an Innova as premium as you want, the valet will always drive it like a van!
  • The Crysta has been a beacon of reliability. It scores well across all parameters, from design to engine refinement to the comfort of the passengers. You also get a bevy of additional features. The Innova’s aftersales service is unparalleled to any other manufacturer. No wonder people still prefer this luxurious people carrier to big and cumbersome SUVs. On the other hand, like most Mahindra vehicles, the XUV500 offers a lot for the money. Quality is a bit of a hit or a miss, and there are known niggles too. But, that doesn’t take away from the fact that Mahindra’s big boy is a well-packaged SUV for those who love munching miles. It’s about time we got an all-new version, though! We would suggest you to take a test drive in order to clear your all doubts. Q. Which car is better, Scorpio or XUV500?
  • Mahindra Scorpio and Mahindra XUV500 ex-showroom price starts at Rs 10.0 Lakh for S3 (Diesel) and Rs 12.57 Lakh for W5 (Diesel). ... As far as mileage is concerned, the Scorpio has a mileage of 16.36 kmpl (Diesel top model) and the XUV500 has a mileage of 14.0 kmpl (Diesel top model). Scorpio is solid buld at affordable price . It has an option of 140 BHP. Wheras XUV500 is more of luxurious and stlyish. XUV is has caugh more attention from people who drive sedans. Both the vehicle has got thier own followers.
  • Scorpio is a more rugged suv of the two. it has a body on frame chasis and is very reliable off the road scenes. It is a rear wheel driven car. XUV 500 on the other hand is an urban suv and is has a monocoque chasis. it is also front wheel driven car and is more premium and better in terms of ergonomics, comfort and safety. choice is for you to make between ruggedness and comfort.
  • Xuv 500 offers you a 6 speed manual transmission in diesel and a 6 speed automatic transmission in both petrol and diesel whereas Scorpio only has a 6 speed manual transmission in diesel only. That is the major difference according to me other than great performance , which xuv 500 has more than Scorpio. Scorpio is also a good car , it depends on you which car you want to buy
