Must Read Questions & Answers Before Buying XUV500

Q. Life time of an engine or how many kilometers does XUV500 engine run under good maintenance?
  • Hi, No fixed Parameters to judge or to limit the life of any engine, it depends on a lot of factors. My XUV is touching 1.15L KMs, it is 5 years old but still performs like new, I used it for both, city driving and highways, it has never let me down so far. I have done non-stop solo trips in extremely rainy conditions, in extreme summers, and in extreme wintery condition as well, all such trips I'm talking are between 800 to 1200 KMs. Never a problem, ever! If you'll respect it, it will respect you back, if you'll abuse it, well, it will still reciprocate! With my engine, I'm sure I'm not gonna have any major issues in the engine before 5L KMs. Regards! : By Vishal | 6 months ago
  • Well, I had bought xuv 500 in sep 2013, and have driven it for 70,000 KM's. But mine was a bad experience. The car's body is badly corroded in multiple places and rain water is leaking through the roof!!. Despite of taking good care of the car over these 6 years , the condition is badly deteriorated. This is for sure that Mahindra uses cheap quality door making their cars and any investment ( I had paid 18 lacs ,on road price then) made would go down the drain. Would never buy a Mahindra car ever again!! : By Sarabjit | 4 months ago
  • Hello sir in nagpur company authorized service center is very worst they don't do good servicing and repairing work at all we have to depend upon the local automobiles only and they do better than the mahindra workshops : By Vikrant | 3 weeks ago

Q. How is XUV 500 petrol performance wise?
  • When it comes to XUV 500 petrol, performances are not equal as you compare to other vehicles, well it consumes more petrol than the others. It all depends on how you drive. THE FACT IS IT CONSUMES A BIT MORE FUEL THEN THE OTHER SUV VEHICLES. In traffic areas it give the maximum mileage of 13 approx not more than that and in LONG DRIVES ON HIGHWAYS you get 16 km approx : By Khalid | 10 months ago

Q. I owned W8 model in 2014 which has more vibrations on second row, we have planned to buy W11 updated, how about 2 row seating comfort while travelling in rough road and may I know if there is more vibrations as previous version - XUV500?
  • The XUV has always been structured on a monocoque platform so it isn’t bogged down by as much body roll through the corners that most body-on-frame SUV like the Scorpio and the Safari face. There is no hint of wobble or nervousness while taking curves at speeds north of 70kmph. It’s agile for its size, but while its steering is fairly accurate, it doesn’t provide great feel. The top-spec W11 variant we drove gets the optional 18-inch alloy wheels with tyre profiles reduced from 235/65 to 235/60. The usual 17-inch wheels will still be available as standard. The ride on the bigger wheels felt sporty but not stiff at any point. That said, the tendency of the XUV’s back end to feel bouncy over sharp bumps still remains. The seats have also become more opulent than before with the inclusion of quilted tan leather. So, sinking in for a nap won’t take long. That said, if spoiled, which is a given, cleaning these seats is not going to be an easy task.As far as NVH levels are concerned, they are well controlled and the engine noise is only audible in the cabin when revved beyond 2,500 rpm. However, the same cannot be said for the Bridgestone Ecopia tyres which emit a lot of rolling noise with some of it making its way inside cabin. But that still isn’t bothersome and can be washed away with the audio system.Read More: - Mahindra XUV500 Facelift : First Drive Review: https://www.zigwheels.com/reviews-advice/reviews/mahindra-xuv500-facelift-first-drive-review/30151/ : By Zigwheels | 11 months ago

Q. Is XUV500 petrol variant is good? Because Mahindra is famous for diesel variant.
  • Yes it's a very good engine but there is a bit power lag as compared to diesel engine but it is common in all types of cars it's a quite refined engine. But you have to cry a bit with the milage. : By SWAGGYGRAPHICS | 1 year ago
  • If running is low u should go for petrol : By Amit | 5 months ago
